As many of you know, Atlanta has become sort of "Hollywood South" due to the great tax incentives available. Every time you see a peach icon at the end of a movie/tv show, it means that it was made here in Georgia. THE WALKING DEAD
is one of the biggest shows curerently being shot here. It's being done by AMC which is one of the smaller channels of Turner Broadcasting. When I was an employee @ Turner Boradcasting, AMC was little more than one work bench, a stack of tape decks and a couple of confidence monitors when I first got the tour after getting the job. It's AMAZING how much things have grown. Back in the day, they would give you these little pins if you worked yourself to death and put in 100 hours week. Sometimes, we slept at the studio to get things done by air date. I kept a couple of the pins Why Bring this up? Well, if ANYONE want's to get in to the "Movie Business" / " TV Business" now is a good time It's one of the few "Growth" industries we have and it's growing like a weed! Here is a link to the GA Film Commission. http://www.georgia.org/industries/entertai...-tv-production/ I was featured in MOVIE MAKER MAGAZINE, along with other local creative types, a while back when the entire industry was starting to blow up! Here is my little award shelf from my time @ Turner, one EMMY award, two "Telly" awards and a "Broadcast Design Association" award. My point to all this is that if you are interested in going in to the visual arts, now is a good time to head south and give it a go!! My interests have shifted away from actual production and towards the Music/Composition/Scoring end of things. I've got wads of bits I hope to share with you guys in 2018. Oh Yeah! Another show being done here right now is called VALOR! Check it out if you can Todd This post has been edited by Todd Simpson: Jan 12 2018, 06:52 PM |

Movie Maker Magazine has rated Atlanta as the best City to move to if you want to get in to the film/TV industry. Growing like a weed.

It certainly helps musicians of all kinds get work here (always has).
Besides the obvious 'music for films, TV, etc.' work there's also the peripheral and secondary market gigs. Parties, award ceremonies, live TV, etc. Good hunting! -------------------- - Ken Lasaine
