Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

So after a long time here is my first REC! Also I have bought a new laptop and now I am using the REAPER with the Legion plugin, the kefir loader and I have put the mix at 100%. Hope you like it!

Nicely Done!! Good on synch, timing, strikes, etc. I did notice a pinch of extra string noise around the 20 second mark but it's nothing that major. Overall, this is a big step up from my MISSION #1 for sure!! You played it like a BOSS! Your production techique is good as well! I can actually hear the backing track that you are playing with, which is a wonderful thing IMHO smile.gif What are you using for your production setup here? cam/audio interface/ software etc? Whatever it is, it's working so keep it up!! Solid 8 from me smile.gif

Hey George!

It's a day to night difference comparing to your previous recording quality. Really great you decided to improve it smile.gif
In this kind of metal riffin' timming is cirtical. In here you're close but not perfect yet. You need to really focus and play with a steady hand becasue sometimes you go in front of the beat and sometimes after the beat. Second thing is I would advice you to search GMC for a tips lesson and go to unwanted noises muting section + there's somewhere here a particular lesson on unwanted noises muting workout. At some points simply some of high strings cut through the mix. Your left hand finger should lay over all the strings below the ones you play.

As for harmonics try to be more confident -play them harder because they are like on the edge of breaking. Some extra strength could fix their performance smile.gif...Oh and try to use more the wrist than the whole forearm smile.gif

Nice!

As commented the important thing to improve here is rhythm confidence. In the beggining of the take your timing hesitations are obvious - then you seem to get more confident towards the end.

This tells me you probably know how this should sound - you just need to get to the point where you are confident enough to nail it even when the record button is on.

You get a 6 from me - when your rhythm is tighter this will turn into a rocking performance for sure.

Keep up the good work!

Hi George!!

Nice to find this great sounding take! Your tone and the mix are very good on this video, well done!

Your playing is not bad at all, but as the other instructors commented here, you need to put some more work on your rhythm to adjust timing even more. This is not a dramatic thing, but it's time to polish details to make this sound tight as the style requires.

I notice that you tend to go a bit after the beat, so try to force a bit your rhythm playing the things a bit "hurried" from what you normally do. The tempo is very slow here and that makes it trickier.

I also agree about the harmonic thing already commented here.

Ok mate, keep practicing!
