> Rules

Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: Neoclassical Solo For Beginners by Emir Hot

Hi GMC

It is not in my habits to choose this kind of lesson.
When I saw the Brandon1992BE's take, I thought "waouh amazing take", it is very professional work

Go, I try too, we shall see what I can make,
About tone, I still have no amp gear, I used overloud TH3, diificult to get better.

About technics, I tried to make vibratos wider as Emir,
I gave the maximum of my capacities, I hope that you will hear it

Hey there!
Now this is a suprise you made for us smile.gif would not expect this to happen smile.gif I was viewing it a few times to try to complain on something....actually I haven't found anything but the fact that you really look like a dense jazz players playign neoclassical. You're vibrato is very consistent and matched timing-wise. It all....looks too good...a little too square....the words that comes to my mind is.."proper" more than fabolous but that's probably natural because we all know what kind of playing your souls sings when you take the guitar. This is undenieable a piece of smooth and correct job that's only missing that "i'm in it" factor smile.gif Tone is a great result for a tele being tweaked this way smile.gif

WOW I was not expecting that! Very well played. Your technique is spot on. Your palm muting is good, strikes are clean, fretting is clean, hand synch is tight, and most of all your control of VIBRATO is very good. Bad vibrato on something like this can ruin the take. For this kind of thing, vertical / wide vibrato works well, which is what you are using. Lateral vibrato is often not enough for neo classical bits. You have a very good command of all the techniques required here and you are putting a good deal of feeling in to the piece as well!! You are ready to take on bigger things my friend!! SOLID 9!!!!
