Swapping about to keep it fresh.
Currently putting the blues improv in second priority and doing it for 15 minutes at the end of each session due to not having many ideas and/or licks in my head. Concentrating now on the lesson for REC which was only a casual thing until now. To try to build my licks for improvising we are studying the following lesson:
30 Beginners blues riffs As a secondary lesson when extra time is available we are looking at this lesson: SRV Chordal Licks When the 30 beginners licks is complete we will work on the SRV-Chordal licks as the main lesson and pick a supplementary lesson to practise when time allows working towards it being the main lesson when the SRV chordal lesson is complete. Practise 12 bar bass rhythm to improve timing, 36-48 bars per evening, record and post in main mentoring thread once per week for Gab to critique. A D A A D D A A E D A A At the end of session, time allowing, practise dominant 7 chords with lead fills trying to follow the chords and use suitable scale for each. A7 (A major pent), D7 (modified minor pent), E7 (modifed minor pent or arpeggio). See above for further info. When time allows or if not "feeling" the session, try to catch up with Todd's Quick Licks and also move forward in Bootcamp. No doubt there will be transitional technique lessons when the main lesson shows a weakness. These will be added as and when Gab feels I need to concentrate on a particular technique.. REHABILITATION WORK
Warm up work: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Triplets-Exercise/ Main lesson: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/SlowBluesinAMinor/ Casual lesson: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/picnic-panic/ Work on ideas for my song idea. Lyrics: Today has nearly gone and Tomorrow’s nearly come, Yesterday seems oh so long ago. Days just disappear and turn into a year Suddenly it’s time to say goodbye, Enjoy each other and the time you have now Till the day comes when you’re gonna have to cry No matter what I try My life is flashing by, I just can’t seem to make it go slow. Days just disappear and turn into a year Suddenly it’s time to say goodbye, Enjoy each other and the time you have now Till the day comes when you’re gonna have to cry Too much stuff to do Not enough time with you, Find time to be happy, not sad. Days just disappear and turn into a year Suddenly it’s time to say goodbye, Enjoy each other and the time you have now Till the day comes when you’re gonna have to cry Before our time is done We should try and have more fun, Live for now not wish that we had. Days just disappear and turn into a year Suddenly it’s time to say goodbye, Enjoy each other and the time you have now Till the day comes when you’re gonna have to cry Till the day comes when you’re gonna have to cry Till the day comes when you’re gonna have to cry I originally had a kind of Achey Breaky Heart groove in my head. Now I'm thinking a kind of Hurt Myself by Johnny Cash vibe. I guess over time we could try both. It's only for fun and experience. https://youtu.be/8AHCfZTRGiI Reference threads here: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_fo...st&p=780374 https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_fo...st&p=780452 https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_fo...st&p=780517 https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_fo...st&p=780569 https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_fo...st&p=780590 https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_fo...st&p=780669 This post has been edited by Phil66: Oct 8 2020, 08:02 PM -------------------- SEE MY GMC CERTIFICATE ![]() “Success is not obtained overnight.
