QUICK LICKS 111: Phantom Arpeggios

This is probably my fave Quick Lick Ever. It sounds a bit like a neoclassical sweep, but only requires one pick strike for every 4 notes as 3 are hammer ons. Also, it doesn't require the tight pick/hand synch that complicated sweeps often require. As a result, it's a great lick to give the vibe of a crazy sweepy bit, without having to play a crazy sweepy bit. Just strike the open high E string and then hammer on 3 notes. It repeats 4 times at each position so that you don't have to constantly move your hand. It sounds waaaay more complicated than it is smile.gif

NICE!!! Also very quick turn around!! I'm impressed that you got this as quickly as you did!! You can adapt very quickly to licks these days. This one is easier than say crazy fast yngwie sweeps, but it's got it's own tricky bits to be sure. You do a very good job of working it out on the fretboard I enjoy your mod as well!!!!

Solid technique, smooth pacing, no string noise, bam!! You just...

LEVELED UP!!!!!

This is not easy for me. My guitar set up definitely does not help but - no excuses.
I found it useful for finding a weakness.
I also discovered a hidden Robert Fripp/King Crimson style lick if you approach it backwards.

Well done!!! I like your mods on this! I am gonna make a quick lick using your reverse mod as that sounds just spiff. I love the changes you make to these things as they are always creative and cool sounding. I still can't play it with the pinky as you do on one of your mods. I have another quick lick which is sorta similar to the reversed version but does allow for the B string shift.

This one on the other hand starts the same sorta idea from the low E.

You nailed it, inspired me to create new quick licks based on your work and generally KICKED A**!!!

You just..
LEVELED UP!!!
