Not sure what "typical" chord progression is,but let's see smile.gif

First of all,you need to know notes of the scale(key) you're in.
On each degree of the scale there's a chord(min, maj or dim).
These chords are made by adding 3rd interval to root note,
and then another 3rd to already added one(which is 5th to root note).
Let's take A minor key per example..
Notes of the scale are A B C D E F G and it continues through octaves.
Chords are:
1st degree A min (A C E)
2nd degree B dim (B D F)
3rd degree C maj (C E G)
4th degree D min (D F A)
5th degree E min (E G B )
6th degree F maj (F A C)
7th degree G maj (G B D)

Now some of the most common combinations:

A min F maj G maj A min
A min D min G maj A min
A min D min E min A min
A min F maj C maj G maj etc...

Is it helping?
