I've got two lessons with alternate picking, one is on GMC and another one is on my Website.
These lessons are cool way to build your speed and cover sort of wide range on the fingerboard.
Check them out and let me know is it ok.

ok cool.. i use my pinky as an anchor when i pick becuase it feels more comfortable for me... should i try to learn picking without the pinky or leave it? also is it a good idea to angle the pick a tad to cut through the strings with more ease?

See your point.
My advice is to set your fist sort of "closed" cause leaving pinky as anchor might lead to troubles while doing string skipping or som.
Also, best way is not to have angle on string with the pick.
It 's probably easier that way cause resistance is smaller but your are missing fine attack and solid tone . smile.gif

I was always wondering if I messed up there. Because I dont really angle my pick. I can do it, but I dont know. Its just weak. I was hoping that I didnt miss out on anything from not doing that!!

Guess you're doing fine then Ryan.
With or without angle,as long as you're feeling comfortable while playing it's ok. smile.gif
