Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hi mate!

I've been following and commenting your progress on this lesson at the mentoring thread so you already know my thoughts. The last thing that I've commented is the cleanness of your sweep picking technique and that's much better here! You did a killer job!

There is still work to do in order to make those sweeps and also the pedal note licks smoother and tighter, but you are very very close my friend. And let me say that your vibrato is much better here, it sounds more Malmsteenish! smile.gif

Congrats on your recent hard work at GMC. Happy new year!!

Well played!!!! This is a very technical bit of music. Playing anything in the YNGWIE style requires serious chops. You do a great job on this one! Your hand synch is very good here as is your palm muting and your sense of timing. You don't miss any strikes and your precision is quite good. Also, your vibrato is strong which is critical for anything Yngwie "ish". i do think there is a lot of room for for adding more subtle variation in your vibrato but the big thing is that it's nice and wide which is crucial for this type of thing. You clearly have a good sense of this piece and you play it quite well. Super congrats you got a solid 8 from me!!

Todd

Wow - very good!

You nailed this one, all the movements will translate to higher speeds and there were no audible misses. On top of that you played it using a strap with the guitar quite far down - I would personally have found this difficult.

You can of course further improve hand sync, sweeping cleanliness and vibrato - but this is pretty much what we can expect from Yngwie level 3 smile.gif

Well done - you get a 9 from me!
