Hey Todd that video you made looks very cool smile.gif

The master I sent gab. balance-wise isn't very different than yours but while you used a scapel I kind of went overboard with the stereo-widening biggrin.gif let me know what you think once its released.

Yes, the time is ok but this is not the right mix/audio file. I'll be updating the final track once I have the mastered version.

EDIT: I did a quick fix replacing the mp3 file for the right one. Now the seconds should be right. Check it out!

I'll be updating this one with Mertay's final mastering after adjusting some details.

Great, thanks! Please just don't delete the current mix until I have updated the playlist, as it will break audio in the radio player.

Thanks man, it was a very fun track to play over!
As I mentioned before, besides your guitar playing, your vox on this are really cool.

@Gab ... I now know how time consuming and sometimes difficult it can be to put all these 'remote' tracks together.

Bravo to everyone involved!

I might have listened to this song like 20 times now smile.gif

What amazed me is Gab. has a really good ear for arranging and song structure; Though good material always helps as the solo's, vocals, backings all are great but he managed to keep things interesting all the way to end of the 6 minutes with a genre probably he never worked before on smile.gif

Despite have met many studio owners working as producer/arrangers, I pretty sure most if not all of them can't pull this off as good as Gab. did. Very impressive indeed.

I've added Metay's mastered version in the post. You can replace the take from the player.

Thanks a lot for your words mate! This comment made my day. smile.gif

And thanks for taking the time to make an improved mastering for this one. It's awesome to hear how better it sounds now.

Sounds cool! Your right the masters are not that different. They both fix things that could have been tweaked in a mastering pass and that's always helpful IMHO. You did give more stereo which is a bold choice and I appreciate it. Thanks for the feedback on my mastering pass smile.gif Glad you like the vid as well thanks for the feedback there also.

Very good job gabe on putting this together per usual. Also the vocals work quite well. The entire thing is very listenable. I've put it up as the intro video to my youtube page.

Mertay I didn't get any feedback on my mastered version other than yours so I do appreciate that.

I feel that both masters are pretty similar. Maybe it's better to go for Mertay's as he worked over the Wav file (I've sent him the file by wetransfer). And also remember that the file that you used was cut in the beginning.

You can download the pre-master wav file (uncut) from this link: https://we.tl/t-e8piGTu9F2

Maybe you can try the your master over it and let Kris choose his favorite master for GMC Radio! biggrin.gif

Thanks for the reply smile.gif I like Mertay's master quite a bit. It sounds like what I was going for and he did a great job. I think I may have used the bad audio version in my video as well without knowing it so I'll pull that down.

Super thanks! smile.gif

Was sort of an experiment for me to be honest cause I can't recall using a widener so strongly before but somehow Gab.s mix responded very well to it. After that I only used spectral comp. (L+R processing instead of joint stereo) +eq'ing previous to the widening to tame and glue things, no shaping the mix was needed.

The moment I got the "driving alone at night feel" finalized processing smile.gif

The radio player now contains Mertay's master. I think the widening is done very nicely as I can hear no damage to the the low-end and kick!

I absolutely love being able to access our latest tune easily!

Thanks a million Ken, love your style as well 😍Maybe we should try a collab over your super cool chordal work? I am a big fan, and I would love to try adding vocals to one of your progressions. I imagine we could take it to Soundgarden-goes-acoustic-meets-Johnny-Cash land 🤩

Coincidentally I was messing around with the 'moveable' chord shape that Storm (Caelumamittendum) posted about a few days ago ... https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_fo...showtopic=61907
It lends itself really well to kind of what you just mentioned.
