Truly a killer player and a terrible loss. I've heard some players talk about Shawn and say he was too much of a perfectionist and wouldn't record things until he thought they were ready. It's up to him of course, as it's his music. I would have taken half baked versions of just about anything he wrote to be honest. Even rough demos done during jam sessions. He passed away so young that we will just never know what he could have done.

He was amazing.

On another note, the space between his two pickups seems much smaller than normal. Any ideas?

Nice catch I never noticed that. It's likely short scaled 24 fret, Charvel/Jackson made those for a limited time long ago marketed for fusion guitarists. This current production PRS is like that too;

That PRS looks like the same gap as on my 30th Anniversary PRS SE Custom 24 but Shawn's space looks even smaller.

PRS and Gibson use slightly different scale lengths, his guitar could be different to them too but thats my idea on the small gap. Here's an even shorter scale current production ibanez;

They also call these 3/2 guitars as how smaller compared to the real model.

When I was looking for a travel guitar at the time I was considering the option as something like that or a typical beginner type guitar. Given some thought I didn't go with the small guitar as it might screw with my memory of fretboard cause I have a habbit not looking at it when in a mood.

My luthier got one to sell to his small shop sometime ago and loved it so much, went nuts on upgrading it;

Anyway, I think Shawn's guitars body size is same or close to standard while the neck is around a 2/3 guitar. Good idea actually cause then it doesn't seem like a kids size guitar biggrin.gif
