The new cloud based gaming platform from Apple intends to make PC and console gaming a thing of the past by allowing just about any apple device to run high performance games via the cloud and over a network. So any apple device, laptop, ipad, etc. could run games that require huge graphics cars without using a graphic card. It's being rendered elsewhere and just streamed to the device. So the user doesn't need to have a dedicated high end graphics card or proprietary console.

Is it just my feeling, some good marketing marketing, or it seems that Apple is on a great moment?

It could be a bit of both smile.gif It does require a very fast internet connection to work properly. It's sorta like the google game platform.

Just move to where I live! 1.2 Gbit for 15 USD/month, unlimited use. It's only a very local provider, mind you, but it's the fastest in the country apparently. I do need to upgrade my router though, as my current one can only handle 500 mbit. Most other places offer limitless 1 Gbit for about 40-50 USD/month.

Cool, more competition for Stadia. I've always built my own PC and have a pretty large Steam Library so it's not really my thing but only the consumer can win when there is competition in the gaming industry like this. Cloud gaming is just going to get bigger and bigger.

It's very local for my area, about a radius of maybe 3-5 km if even that much. The provider owns all the cables which is very uncommon. Usually all these internet providers have to pay a fee to "rent" the cables from a bigger company. Not this place, so they can keep the price very low smile.gif

They must have upgraded my service as it's now almost twice as fast for $65 a month but nothing like Denmark!

If I remember correctly, Romania has one of the fastest and cheapest internet connections.

Only really checked Wikipedia, but yeah, they offer 1 Gbit at 8 euros in some places it seems.

Apparently some places in Sweden offer up to 10 Gbit for home connections. And it's not even THAT expensive. Maybe Kris can tell us more.

https://bahnhof.se/bredband

About 50 USD/month for 10Gbit!

I “only” have 100mbit fiber. Sweden is known for aggressive fiber expansion indeed!

I am guessing for this kind of render service what matters are the response times and not really the bandwidth though.

Is that megabit or megabyte? FIBER is typically 10 times the speed of standard 100 megabit line.
