Super thanks for the share and for putting it in the THU Preset archive!!! I Love how THU is putting out killer patches for FREE every month and putting up videos to show people, step by step, how to build patches. I have read online that the reason most folks don't use THU is that its' just too complicated. Certainly it's a bit more complex than BIAS/AMPLITUBE etc. But it's never seemed overly complex to me. Still, if one is just getting in to this sort of thing, I could see how it might be option paralysis due to the variety of choices.

I still think the best thing about THU is that it can be dead easy, just start with rig pack, or you can build it just as you would if you were building your pedal board, selecting your amp/mic/cab and then adding outboard gear just as you would if you were recording in a big buget full on recording studio. Also, I still think it sounds the most "real" of any of the plugins currently available. Then again, I'm probably biased a bit as I've been a fan from day 1! smile.gif

TH-U is only as complicated as you make it. It's like the time someone asked me if I had a calculator they could borrow, I passed them my scientific one, "Oh I can't use that" they said, I said, "Why?", their reply was, "it's got too many buttons", to which I said, "Well, just use the ones you need!".

The only thing that can be tricky, and that goes for any plug in, is setting up the audio side, ASIO etc and getting it working in the daw, particularly if you're new to it, but the amp and pedal side of it is no different to having your own storeroom full of gear cool.gif

Well said!! I've always found the interface inspiring. Sadly, some folks just find it overwhelming. To each his own I suppose smile.gif I really like how it's just like setting up a real rig with real gear in the real world all the way from the micrphone to the outboard gear. But then again, I was trained old school on an actual console in an actual studio with "signal chain" being a very important concept.

I agree, I love the interface, those that find it overwhelming are just looking at it too much like the bloke with the calculator.

I used to love Amplitube for the same reason, skeuomorphism as you know is when software mimics real life and I love it, others hate it. I never really got on with the Helix interface because it didn't use skeuomorphism. I can't see why people don't like a software amp looking and working like the real deal but as you said, each to their own.

I'm waiting to see which company is first to come out with different cables types and lengths, if that happens, I'll stick to stock, I'm not going down that rabbit hole laugh.gif

I usually find it easier to find a preset close to the sound I am looking for and then tweak away hehe

Very good sounds from the TH-U!

Even though I don't own it, I can use their recommendations to create the same sound on another amp simulator biggrin.gif

Yeah, that's why everyone should have a look to discover the tweaking tricks. wink.gif

Well said!!! That's how I started working with THU and how I often still do it. I just usually start with one of my own presets and tweak from there but my fave presets are based on pre existing stuff. I usually use 3 parametric EQ units which were borrowed from one of the original metal presets.
