hmm alright. Well how bout members post their guitar brands and descriptions and what not in this thread and then hard tail can copy and paste the descriptions into the sticky to make a dictionary full of ideas, Gmc Members start posting ! We need your help ! - John Sounds perfect! I am board at work so I've already started compiling the list. I realize while I am strong in Blues/Rock gear knowledge I am weak in Jazz, and Metal... so any tips on what artists are using in those genres would be much appreciated. For general purpose and fusion - Gibson Les Paul and a custom made guitar by Andy DeMetriou. Both are twin h/bs as I prefer a fuller deeper tone. Custom gets the most use as it has 24 frets, 2 EMGs and a floating floyd so is very versatile. Custom was made specially for me to my specifications and what can I say - pretty much my perfect all round electric .
For jazz - and some blues - I have a Gibson Howard Roberts. Wonderful full and rich tone and a great neck - not a shredding type neck but very playable both for chordal stuff and jazz fingerpicking. It's a thinline semi as, as much as I love L5s, I find the full body archtops a bit too difficult to play comfortably. For anyone thinking about buying their 'dream' guitar I would strongly recommend talking to a good luthier and maybe having a custom made specially for you. Hey Muris has so it must be a good way to go. Customs are not as expensive as you'd think either.
