You're probably all going to say "Didn't you know that Phil? You muppet!
For some time now I've been using TH-U in Reaper as my main plugin. Sometimes I find a patch I like and record a track, then I want to record using the same patch on another track but with more gain, or an extra pedal so I've been copying the patch and renaming it so I can save it in a different configuration. What I've just "discovered", is that any changes you make to the patch, stay with that track, so you can have slight gain in one track using "Patch XX", then go to another track and use "Patch XX" with another pedal added and more gain, then another track using "Patch XX" with a delay pedal. Every time you open up TH-U for each patch, it's how you set it in that track, even if you completely change "Patch XX" and save it within TH-U, the individual "Patch XX" is the same as you set it. Obviously, when you add "Patch XX" to another track it will be how you saved it within TH-U BUT, I found it amazing that it remembered the settings for the patch individually for each track. I thought that if I made changes for "Patch XX" it would change that patch globally for all Tracks it is used in Reaper. That's why I've been creating new patches for each track, for example, "Patch XX" "Patch XX2", "Patch XX3" etc Okay, you can stop laughing at this complete muppet now, I hope it's helped somebody out there anyway. -------------------- SEE MY GMC CERTIFICATE “Success is not obtained overnight. It's a great feature, I was wondering if all multi-fx/amp sims are like this? If not, they should be.

In the same way you assumed that it did that, I assumed, without giving it any thought, that it created a new instance of the plug in and behaved how it does.
I'm wondering if I'd seen someone using the same plugin with different settings on youtube or something early on in my DAW life, because I'm not that smart to get things right most of the time by myself. -------------------- My SoundCloud

.... That's a very good point, well made Ben. I think if I had any big projects I'd be paranoid but for my little projects it's fine. I don't want to end up loads and loads of patches and not relent what they are for projects, it needs a proper catalogue approach. I'll see how stable this is.
