Very Spiff Glass Artist From Japan

the piano playing Japanese gal that I met through teaching pointed me to a friend of hers who is a "glass" artist in japan and I think her work is just amazing. Her name is MIKA AOKI. She works in glass only which is a very tricky medium as you might imagine. Just transporting the works to a gallery can result in disaster. She is a big deal in the japanese art world evidently and I can see why. Whaddya think?

Killer piece indeed smile.gif It's a very fragile medium to work in. Some sculptors use steel or other heavy material just for it's durability. I really appreciate that she is using glass though. The creations that she makes really wouldn't work in any other medium imho.
