Looking back on 2021 there was some very cool gear. Let's review some of it.

First up is a very handy bit of kit that will not only wind your strings for you, it will wind them until they are perfectly in tune!! So it's not just a dumb string winder, not to say string winders are dumb, they are amazing, but even more amazing is one that winds all the way to perfect tune! In addition, if you want to retune just pop it on and bam.

Best of all, the motor is charged with a rechargable internal battery. it will work on your acoustic or your electric. it's got a little LCD screen and you can set it up to do do various types of tunings and you save them as presets!!! So if you have one guitar you want at DROP D no problem!! Make a preset and save it. Then you can make a preset for DROP C and another for standard tuning.

In addition, you can download an app that lets you upgrade the firmware on your tuner with ease using this app. it has a big help section to answer all of your questions. You dont have to sign up for anything, you can just grab the app.

This device runs about $130 on amazon.

This is a very handy fully integrated sound card/interface/live mixer designed to work with your mobile phone. The smart phone and tablet platforms are fast becoming lego ways to create music. These are very powerful devices and an add on like this JOYO MO MIX, really unleashes that power. It will let you connect just about anything from a guitar/bass or condenser mic that requires phantom power. Also it’s a fully functioning mixer. So you can plug multiple things into it, like a guitar and microphone.

So grab your smart phone, or tablet, and plug in your guitar and a microphone. Then launch your mobile daw and bam you are ready to record. Garage band works great for this if you have an iphone. The iphone/ipad are gaining ground as music production platforms.

It also works for doing podcasts. If you are a podcasters, plug in a couple of mics and point your phone at your talking heads and bam you can create live streaming and podcasts directly from your phone using no other hardware or or software. That’s pretty amazing.

Also, beyond mobile, this device will work just as well with your laptop/desktop, since it’s a full on audio interface. It’s small and light to it’s really designed for mobile use, but it also works as a small, inexpensive, bus powered audio interface.

Lastly, beyond recording this is the PERFECT practicing tool!! Take it with you, and you can put on your headphones and launch any guitar plugin on your phone and bam you have a full on practice setup that won’t disturb your other company and fits in your pocket.

You can get this thing for only $110 at amazon!!
