Hey everyone,
Things are starting to sound pretty good from what I've heard everyone do so far smile.gif
Anyway, here's what I came up with after noodling around for a bit:

[attachment=1523:attachment]

I wasn't sure where to go with the song, so I basically improvised a little piece over the intro rhythm guitar, which is the attachment above. Who knows, there might be some place in the song where it might fit.

Here is just the guitar by itself without any backing track:

[attachment=1524:attachment]

Marcus will probably have to process this dry guitar sound in order to add some beef to it since I just recorded straight into my sound card with no effects at all.

Comments, criticisms (constructive of course wink.gif ) are welcome, I'm open to change anything for the good of the song.

Peace cool.gif

Well, I heard two nice little ideas there that I think could be implemented some way (but distorted avecourse!), first is 0:35-0:37, and the second is the last 15 seconds(not including the last 5 dead seconds.)

I have been listning over and over again to the final mix so far and think that the riff before the vocals doesnt fit. What do you guys think?
I think it should go like before the solo or maybe in between the two vocal patterns???

Yeah, maybe you're right! I'll take a note of what you said, and we can discuss the whole structure once we got all the riffs down. smile.gif

Thanks for sharing your ideas! smile.gif

That's exactly the approach I'm looking for!! I'll run it through the POD to see how it sounds. I'm sure we can use some of it, maybe for the solo? smile.gif

Cool, you can use some of it in the solo if you want. I'll start working on some more polished, and composed ideas tonight instead of just messing around with the D minor scale tongue.gif
Hopefully in a few days, I can get a few more ideas ready, and put them into Guitar Pro, so that everyone can see what's going on inside my head smile.gif

Talk to you guys later cool.gif

I must say thanks for the compliment on the singing I must say the lyrics you came up with are awsome and fit alot better than the ones i came up with ......I realy like the bass style of lyrics as well it dont sound so 80s like mine did lol.........I think for bass style lyrics the bass gutiar should be just dry and tight with no effects that way it will definatly give the lyrics and kick drums super huge punch...probly just add compresstion and gate to it.........that will give it plenty of drive...............just a idea cause it definatly has drive.......that could blast thru a brick wall lol.............awsome job so far everyone...........hope everyone is haveing as much fun as i am with this project......i think today i will mess around with the bass and mix a few things up and see what happens with the mix.....i have contributed so im not looking to play bass.....cause there is no i in team and theres room enough for everyone

Nick, it sounds awesome!! The first thing I came to think of, is to use this as a solo-intro. No drums or bass, just the guitar repeating this riff a copule of times... and then the hell [read: solo] brakes loose! biggrin.gif

I can give it a try to see how it sounds!

Marcus, I ordered a line 6 toneport so I'm going to hold off on posting anything to the thread until I can use your tone smile.gif

(or if it doesn't work like from podxt to pocketpod, at least I'll have a much improved recording setup).

thanx marcus,its great to hear that.... especially from you it´s an honour for me smile.gif
you maybe recognised that my upload was only 24 bars...it´s because I am using the demo-version of gp5 so I can´t do more.... I had also some other ideas and riff-variations but I think for this collab it would be enough.. if not let me know.
I can´t wait until I hear the song with my riffs included( especially I can´t wait how they sound from you) and in general how the whole collab will sound at the end.... it must become great smile.gif

Here's a really small(1 second small) idea(only in guitar pro, have no way of recording) it's for lead guitar, some sorta scale run, have no idea what scale this is just sounded good to me when I playd it smile.gif, anyways this should be playd starting on 00:54, hope you like this! oh and the last note, the pinch, first of all it's not mandatory for it to be a pinch, and second it's supposed to echo!

Sorry Marcus, but I'm simply not going to be able to dedicate any sort of time to this right now - I've tried but it's realistically not going to happen.

I'm in the middle of looking for a new job right now, and all the kids are getting ready to start school - so my hands are more than full for the next couple weeks. =(

ok, I've added some of the riffs now, and I recorded a little part of the solo just to let you know where it starts. I also moved the riff that didn't really fit, but maybe we should take it away. What do you guys think?

For starters I'm thinking 8 people should play a solo. So just send me your solo without the backing track!

Who's up for this? smile.gif
(you don't need to use the PODxt preset for the solo)

Here's the updated file:
