ibanez has a prestiege model (their high end) with a edge pro trem (edge pro = some like it more then a legit floyd rose) for about 800-900 dollars. it's called the RG1570 (i think). they also have the pretty awesome looking Xipos for about 700, comes with some super hot dimarzio pickups and an edge III trem (comparable to a floyd rose LICENCED).

Can someone give me any suggestions of a guitar that works for metal/shred, that lasts the rest of my life(not some cheap ass copy) and cost around 8-900$?
Thanks biggrin.gif

Hey Robin,

I have a little gem for you, I've bought two of these guys and in my opinion they are one
of the best guitars on the market. The neck and action on them is prestine to be quite honest,
excellent quality guitar. They are called Mavericks!!. Not cheap copys of anything really and they
are in or around the price range you mentioned. If I could buy 10 of them I really would, once you
play one you will understand what I mean....

http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/reviews/ele...s/maverick/f-1/ / (9.1/10 Rating!!)
http://www.musicgearreview.com/review-display/8060.html (5 Star Rating)

Check out the website although it seems that they have ceased producing them for a while, if you
are extremely lucky you might be able to pick one up on ebay or something.

Go for it in my opinion, I know guys who own PRS customs, LP Customs etc etc and the only guitar
they will gig with is a Maverick...

Hope this helps...
Barry.

Noticed that Sounds Great stock the Maverick Barry. They don't carry rubbish so just on that it must be a quality axe.

Cheers,
Tony

and no I have no economic or marketing or legal connection with the shop. Just a very happy customer of theirs in the past biggrin.gif

Thanks alot everyone.

I actually bought a really nice guitar from a friend of my dad. I havent payed him yet, but I think I will get it really cheap.

I'm not even sure if they make it anymore, I cant even find the brand on the internet. The only thing I could find was two reviews, and they were really happy with it, I am aswell.

The brand is Weststone and the model is Pantera x275.

I really like it, I love the sound, the neck, the design, and it NEVER goes out of tune. I'd call it a metal guitar smile.gif

Maybe I can post pictures and sound from it.

The next time I need a guitar I'll check your suggestions out biggrin.gif

Thanks again guys.

I had a Westone thunder Ia in the 80s - it was reasonably priced yet well made by a Japanese company, it served me well - enjoy!
