I'd have to say Biology for me and more specifically Marine Biology. I don't have a degree in it or anthing but studying Sharks has always been a sort of hobby of mine. I read, watch, listen to anything to do with sharks....my fave week of the year is Shark week on Discovery Channel smile.gif . Great Whites are my main focus of interest and I'm actually scheduled for a shark dive next fall....I can't wait.

Perhaps the dumbest bit of advice I was given when I was at high school by a creerrs teacher was that I would not be able to do marine biology as I was not doing French 'O' level. Seems she only knew about Jacques Cousteau and thought all marine biologists were French rolleyes.gif .

But yes sharks and dolphins and whales are great. Shark dive sounds fab - mentiond the idea to my little girl her comment was 'Wow er but no way am I getting in the water when there are sharks about!'. We live in a world centre for paragliding and she look at paragliders and says 'No way am I ever doing that. They must all be mad!' This is a 7 year old who goes rock climbing, canoing etc each month by the way cool.gif .

Cheers,
Tony

I think it is both.
But for example these "Savants", that people that are given some special talent, for example calculating something like: 28^23 in their head in a few seconds. (Search for Rüdiger Gamm, I dont know if there are some english videos, but if you understand german, look him up)
Thats a point were psychology hasnt to do that much. For Rüdiger Gamm there is missing a connection or it is very small (im not sure) between the right part and the left part of his brain, so he can calculate like hell.
But I have to say psychology is also very interessting smile.gif

i belive thats the study of the Mind. You might think the brain and the mind are the same thing, but they're not for me. I dont know how to explain it.

LOL! That's too funny Tony....all marine biologists are French.....like the fish know what language your speaking tongue.gif

Yeah I'm extremely excited and frightened to death about the shark dive. I have all intenstions of getting in the cage but I guess we'll have to see when a 15 ft Great White is swimming around banging into the thing....I may chicken out unsure.gif . I was suppose to go next month but some personal stuff came up and I am unable to go so I've rescheduled for next fall. I've loved GWS ever since I was a kid. I would love to go to Australia and dive with Rodney Fox but I'm settling for Mexico as don't have the funds for Australia....but some day maybe.

And by the way your daughter sounds way to cool....it's awesome that your introducing her to such great activities. I'm hoping to do the same for my nephew.

She's a sound little girl - can be really up for adventure sometimes and at others a very girlie girl (if you see what I mean), amazingly rounded individual who keeps surprising me and my wife as to what she can/will do/try out.

Enjoy the dive - sure it will be awesome where ever you do it. Think I'd want more then a cage between me and a gws though blink.gif .

Cheers,
Tony
