A little background if you will...

I (sort of) taught myself to play guitar through my teen years (1985-1990). I was pretty sucky and I'm not afraid to admit it.

I ended up at the Atlanta Institute of Music in 1991 or '92. Graduated from there and played with a local band for a bit.

I met my future wife and quit playing after we got married. I was young-ish (24) and couldn't figure out how to be both a dedicated guitar player and a dedicated husband, so I put the guitar away.

That was about 12 years ago. About a month ago, I was asked to play guitar in the church band. I pulled my old guitar from the back of the closet and I've been playing away ever since. I guess I've been lucky because things have been coming back to my pretty quickly. My theory is a lot rusty though.

PS - If I'd have had a site like this when I was a teenager, my playing would have been a lot better. This site (and the GuitarPro software) ROCK!

Welcome aboard! Next to buying a guitar, GMC is without a doubt the best investment anyone can make in learning or improving on their ability to play. The wealth of shared knowledge here far surpasses anything that I've ever seen for both the accomplished and aspiring musician.
