Ok I had lots of fun with this one, humming random lyrics - so much I had to prolongue the length! biggrin.gif

Now I am nervous to hear what Luciana sais.. unsure.gif I identify hitting the right pitch as one of my main problems (but I probably have a lot more of them).

Dude that was cool biggrin.gif
You almost have a Dave Mustaine sound going on. smile.gif

Thanks for the awesome feedback Luciana - I will definately try to include more blues improvisations into my vocal practicing and think of the things you said. It's funny it hasn't struck me that this kind of practcing should be good for my voice - since blues jamming is what made my guitar playing progress! smile.gif
Haha awsome to hear you sing Gab!! "OH YEAH!!" laugh.gif

And damn - I think you beat me!! biggrin.gif

laugh.gif laugh.gif Thank you Kris ! You've also done a great job! I like the different styles that you have. I think that the Ac/dc style is one of the most amazing! smile.gif

Its the only style I can do that I'm ever happy with the sound of >_< I have a small baritone range that needs expanding. tongue.gif

Hey Owen! I really like your voice! You have to record something with the new luciana's backing track:

https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_fo...?showtopic=7119

I think that your voice will fit very well with that Alice in chains style backing...

Well... I was glad very much when i saw another improvisation! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Now.. technicaly:

I want to do a question: Haven't you hurt your throat after singing in this way?

You have a particulary way to use your voice. It hepls a lot for singing heavy metaL!...and this is good if you want to sing it... But do you want to sing other style?

This improvisation was always on pitch so It was very good... Maybe I can hear a little effort in your voice. I think that you have the style but don't exaggerate it. If you can sing it without that effort, I think that would support your style and maybe sound more naturally.

For example: the last word you sang ("blues"), it has so much air... and sound a kind of effort that you can feel it.

But Anyhow it souds very good!!!

My congrats to you!!!

Doesnt hurt at all actually, originally I had a raspy style that hurt my throught, but I eventually gave that up and experimented until I found something more comfortable, this way doesnt affect my throught or my range, my cleans do however develop a slight staccato attack when I revert to singing normally.

I'm not a big fan of my voice when I'm doing cleans though, to me it always sounds mildly out of key, and my range is lacking despite the amount of singing I do, Any tips? tongue.gif

Try to do the next backing track (vibrato lesson) with your clean voice. So I can hear you and I can tell you some tips... But I must hear you- ok?

I know I have not used the backing track but thought I would post here anyway because this thread died.

http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=NWAptu5UBq0

Highly embarrassing! tongue.gif

I must confess I have not been practicing your lessons but after recording this I realize that is now what I have to focus on for a while!!!

Edit: this is my first attempt at singing really, if you can call it that. It is basically talking. I have never sung along to any songs i like, or even sung in the shower sad.gif

To Hemlok:

Congratulations!!

Yes, you are right...It is basically talking, but it is great anyway... I would prefer that song be more slow so you can sing it..., but if you are using your talking voice, try to exaggerate it...try to imagine that you are a blues singer, that you are so cool!! and try to acting that... your voice will be change adding that acting...
The voice always loads with our state of mind. You will notice that!

When I was younger I was singing blues, I love it...

my congrats to you! cool.gif
