Drum lessons on GMC seems like a great idea!
Sites that have the same goal, same great community, etc. as GMC, but of different instruments, in this case, drums. Are there any? |

But still you must be careful..as you said, sacrificing guitar lessons with drum stuff is no good for site called GMC. -------------------- Youtube

Here's something for your son:
http://freedrumlessons.com/ Great free video lessons, complete with notation etc. which taught me basic drumming in less than two days! There's also lots of advanced stuff on that site. |

This is the problem with web that you only have so much space - so you have to be careful with the priority of things to display... I have an idea. Since GMC has few drummers you can create torrents. You just record your drum lesson and then turn the video file into a torrent using a program such as BITCOMET (its free). Torrent files are only 10KB only, so you can upload many vids. Users just have to open the torrent file and dowload the video. The only problem is that people can upload you vids in other sites. To fix that you could ask some of the computer techie staff of GMC to put a verification user name and password (it can be done with a windows media player plug in, using your GMC account on each vid) on the downloaded vids keeping the vids safe. Great! I'm by no means a virtuoso, but I know I could put together beginner and intermediate lessons. There's also a lot of genre-specific drumming that can be taught, as well. And Muris, I understand your concern. The bass and singing lessons all kinda go with guitar anyways, so drumming would be a bit of a jump. I really think that it would attract a lot of people though, and teach some guitarists to play the drums and some drummers to play the guitar. Never a bad thing. Of course,I didn't say NO WAY...just quoted Kris and his saying about being careful with it. -------------------- Youtube

Well, drum lessons would be cool I guess, although I myself have no plans whatsoever to start playing drums. Maybe some day...
