i was looking through the new december guitar world and saw a review about the new axl badwatter series guitars. they look pretty nice and are only 200 USD

Specs:

Scale Length: 25 1/2
Fretboard: Rosewood
Body: Adler
Neck: Rock Maple
Bridge: Vintage Style tremolo
Pickups: EMG humbucker and 2 EMG single coil pickups

thats only about 200 USD too so there great prices but i would have to try one first

Anything for $174 is probably not a very good guitar.
