I also use the red and black Jazz III picks. When I first saw them, I was like hmm I'm going to have a hard to holding these small things. But I really like the control and feel you get with them.

Wow! GMC is obsessed with these Jazz III picks, I guess I'll have to try them out. The best pick I've ever used is a Fender Premium Celluloid Medium. They work great for everything...

Someone should do a review of these Jazz III picks, let us know what's so great about them! laugh.gif

I got myself a regular black jazz 3 yesterday and I must say I'm pretty disappointed. Eventhough I liked the overall feel, it's got the grip of a wet piece of soap. I will check out the ultex and tortex versions of it though.

I was reading an article in GuitarOne magazine about these picks. Petrucci, Tremonti, Laiho, Bonamassa and alot of other metal guitarists use them. Never used one but i hear the have great tone while alternate picking

I just ordered a pack of "Jazz III XL", been using Jazz III till now, now i want to try the bigger size, as i took me a bunch of time to get used to the small shape of regular Jazz III.

I cannot play accurately without a Jazz III now unless I sit down and reteach myself how to hold the pick.

I've been using the Jazz III picks for a few months now but I recently changed back to my regular sized dunlop 1mm. Overall it just feels better, more like an allround pick. What I liked about Jazz III was that it sort of slipped over the strings rather easy which made it quite suiteable for speedpicking, but then when I thought about it...my playing was simply coming along better with the 1mm regular size.

I have some black dunlop 1.3something picks dont know if they're jazz III but they're small and thick- i like them, cant play with most other picks.

I also lke the Ibanez "Xtra Heavy" must be slightly thicker and a tad bigger, has a cool sandpaper like grip at the top which is great for me as i iften drop them tongue.gif

The dunlop Jazz III is really great for alternate picking soloing. After using it for some time, I just can't get back to be used to anything (except a Fender medium to play acoustic guitar).

However, I thought I was the only to have problem sweeping with it (due to my bad technique tongue.gif ), but given this topic I will try something else for sweeping...

Sweeping? I got used to it and love it for sweeping but i DO agree that it was tricky in the beginning smile.gif

I also use the Jazz III. I like it cause it gets you closer to the strings and the thickness of the pic is perfect! biggrin.gif
Even though I mostly play punk it works great.

hm I dont like the JAzz III
I play with ibanez Steve Vai signature / heavy picks (1mm) and i'm pretty happy with them.
I also liked the Joe Satriani picks, but unlikly they aren't any more buy-able in our regional music store sad.gif
