Heres the deal....

I need a high gain amp (that i can use for small gigs). I right now have a vox ad30vt (not high gain or loud enough) and a limited edition Epiphone 1967 Flying V.

The sound i want is more of Bullet for My Valentine type. Heres some amps i had in mind:

-Peavey Transtube Bandit 112

-Roland Cube 60

-Line 6 spider III 75

-Laney LX65D

Which one do you think is the best (i cant go try em all out cause the dealers are really spread apart)?

Do you recommend any other amp to suit my requirements around this price range?

Any drawbacks with the amps mentioned above?

Thanks

None of the above for hi gain stuff.

Cheapest way to get close to the real thing (spells f ex Mesa, Peavey 5150) would be for you, if they keep it in Canada, to have a closer look at B-52 AT combo.

They dont sell 5150's anymore (only 6505).

Do you know of anything closer to my budget (under $500) <U.S to make it easier>.

Were covering some Bullet for My Valentine, Breaking Benjamin and Nickelback songs so i really need a decently loud high gain amp.

Do you think i should go with a Peavey Transtube bandit 112 and buy a boss mt-2, and a noise gate?

Thanks

I know, but you can still get one used wink.gif
It was just a couple of examples. A used amp maybe is a good idea to get something descent for less money.

As I said, the B-52 AT combo.
There's the Peavey Valveking 1x12 combo also. Made in China. From Blues/jazz to B.A. heavy hi gain.

The choice is all yours smile.gif I can't comment on solid state amps, they don't interest me.
