Three others worth a mention Ben:
Roland/Boss GT8 and the Yamaha MagicStomp. The Yam I think is pretty cheap as Yam for some reason haven't really pushed it. It's still a great pedal - Allan Holdsworth is one person who uses them. If you have loads of money burning a hole then there is also the TC Electronics G-System - built like a tank and studio quality - just don't expect change from 1000UK Sterling. Sorry to slash between Andrews half hour of power, but all POD's are highly overrated. THey are decent, ,but for the price you pay for each POD you can get other stuff from Brands like Digitech for the same price with loads of additional features.
POD's are userfriendly but they lack lot of stuff. If you had a POD Xt live in mind id blindly suggest you go in for a Digitech GNX 4, Digitech GNX 3000 or that multieffects unit my BOSS. Try em out and youd see the difference. If i were you id go on UG and see the ratings and reviews on the POD XT LIVE. It does not have that high rating (i think 8 or 7) where as the GNX4 has a rating of 10/10! Your choice, but keep in mind the POD (or pretty much all line 6 products) are highly marketted and over rated. -------------------- __________________________

FWIW, the recording quality of the Pod XTL is extremely good, and they rate highly for ease of use.
