I like my gig bag, its a road runner and its never let me down.

I usually keep the strap on when I play, and I only put on the trem' bar when I wanna use it.

I'm a bit worried about keeping the strap on when its in the bag though because it might mess up my high gloss finish.

Q1: I keep my LP on a guitar stand, because case takes up too much floor space and I need my dancing room.

Q2: Don't use strap too much, I put it on when I want to use it and take off once I am finished.

Q3: My LP doesn't have tremolo. But I would use tremolo alot if I had it... Next year when I get a strat.

Hmm, when I'm moving it, I keep my guitar in a semi-hard case...

I only use a strap when I'm playing at my church, I don't have it on at home, I just play sitting down.

Well, my Schecter doesn't have a tremolo, but with my old Ibanez/when I get a guitar with a tremolo, I kept it on except when moving it.

No tremolo on my LP.
As for strap-locks, I chose semi permanent because well, I've simply tied the leather bit up with some string so that it can't come off the strap hook very easily. It will come off if you pull it in a certain direction but not will never come off while playing.

I sometimes worry about the strap scratching the body while it's in the case but I am always very careful to lay the plastic buckle bits on top of the strap fabric so it can't touch the body.

I had a Hardcase, but i cant stand them to be honest. I much prefer a well padded gigbag , so much more conveniant!!! smile.gif

my friend got into a fight at a pub one time, and he used his gig bag (with his tele inside) the only thing close enough at the time, to protect himself from this guy trying to hit him with a chair (repeatedly). After people broke the fight up, he checked on his tele (MIM, so not incredibly expensive) and found it in perfectly good condition, like he never used it to stop someone from beating him with a chair.

ever since I heard that story, I swore by gig bags. The higher end ones are damn near invincible.

I prefer cases, as they're much more durable and take shorter time to open and close.

I take both, when i go to rehearse with my band i take a gig bag because its more handy. If i'm going to gig with all my equipment i take the case because the equipment in my car could damage my guitar if it was in a gigbag.

When i go to band practice i have to put the stuff in the car so i use a hardcase. I have a gig bag but don't use it to much because i also carry picks patch chords, books, tuners and my strap in my hardcase. Everything goes in the car. The only guy i jam with who lives near me i just walk to his place and i always leave my jackson at his house or when i don't i just carry it over

I never take my stuff anywhere at the moment - need to get into a band sometime when my job allows it ...

In any case:

- Hard Case always, Strap and Bar stay on until I move it

I cracked a classical guitar at age 12 in a boisterous queue to get on a school bus (was a very cheap unpadded bag though) - ever since then its been hard cases all the way.

Whilst it's at home my main guitar sits on a stand and I only put the bar on if I'm using it. Strap is on all the time and strap locked.

If I move it anywhere it goes in a flightcase and stays there when not in use. I used to roadie for a PA hire company and for a few bands many years ago and I've seen too many accidents where guitars have had their headstocks sheared off whilst not in a proper case.

Cheers,
Tony

High end gig bag, and after reading the story about spiders friends telecaster I don't think I'll ever worry about my baby getting hurt. Except for the fact that I keep the strap on in the gig bag, I'm always worried it will have scratces or something from it, but I have no other place for the strap. And, no tremolo bars!
