Woke up this morning to find a Gibson newsletter in my mailbox.
They are launching a guitar (the Robot Guitar) that tunes itself (standard, drop d, open g,etc).

Check out the video clip:

Scroll to the bottom of the page and watch the INSTRUCTIONS video. The other videos are just little wanna be commercials they made for the guitar.

Oh! No thanks. I will wait until they release the guitar that has a magnetic neck and implants for your fingertips so you can play like a god. It is a handy tool to be able to tune by ear. While it looks simple in the video I am sure it would confuse me and I would smash the guitar on the ground... stupid robots. wacko.gif

Yes please!!! After 30 years of tuning a guitar by ear I am bored with it - this is a great effort saver! And it looks like it is an LP anyway which is a cool guitar that I have to have - bet it costs a mint though sad.gif

I called around to various shops in my area and they said the price has not been released yet. They all said within 2 weeks.

I have mixed feelings about it. I just want to try one to see what it's all about.

Then I can make one of those lame wanna be commercials with the guitar.... the GMC SLASHER! LOL! wink.gif

That is pretty cool. I wouldn't need it as much for standard and drop d but for messing with the other tunings I could see it being a cool addition. I would like to see the guts of the mechanism.

I think the best feature of it is the intonation helper, I just can't do it, and it would help me tons, maybe it will be my next guitar =p
