Can anyone tell me whether it is possible to have the output sound coming out of your computer speakers or headphones when recording with the PODxt? At the moment, i'm trying to record by hooking my PODxt up to my USB and recording that way but the sound will obviously come out of the PODxt. Just take your computer speakers plug out of the back of your tower and put that in there. You might then have to go to control panel and sound devices and set it as your sound device, assuming you have windows. I have a toneport and this works for me. I leave it plugged in actually. This way I can listen to myself from the amp with some quality. Sometimes I also use the usb entry, but I belive the recording isnt as good, although it records in stereo this way. I also use cool edit pro to record (very old version, but enough to my recordings). Also... it helps having a good sound board... I have a low quality on-board sound system on my PC, so having a line 6 PODXT Live and a ESP LTD F-400 is quite useless to this my pc recordings... Quite frustating.... Dec 14 2007, 09:47 AM	GMC:er Posts: 210 Joined: 1-July 07 From: troy new hampshire	I run everything thru my mixing board........then to the pc........then to the pc gives me a better over all mix.. and the sound quality is tough to beat that way as well............I have greater controll to where i want the sound ......................pc or amps or headphones ...................or if i so wish all three at the same time ...................I find a mixing board a must have in the recording world.............can record as many people at once as i have chanals.....................I just record with music creator 3.........its cheep and it gets the job done.......I send out my stuff to be mastered........for 500 bucks.............cds with covers...and top notch sound........you just cant beat it........and saves alot of hassels..........cause they have the gear and the rooms for it ........ and imo will blow away anything you can put out of a home setup You are at GuitarMasterClass.net Don't miss today's free lick. If you have two sounds to mix together, then i suggest buying a toneport - way better than the mixer, and if you have more than 2 sounds you want to record, then you can use a mixer, but why exactly? You dont get any good guitar recording interface with the mixer, you can use pedals, but thats like going through Dbox. I guess you dont plug your guitar directly into the mixer right? If you do - that mixer is not a good option, if you dont then you must be going through some sort of mic>amp setup. So my xt has always gone from its headphone jack into my line in on my computer, adapter needed. This gives true stereo with one wire. Be sure wire and adapter are stereo type. Then everything I play comes out the computers speakers which cost so little compared to the sound they put out. Plus the tone I hear is what will be recorded and sound identical when played back. My xt is also connected by usb but is not selected to be the sound card. Then I use Guitar Port to control the xt. I think GP is free DL from line 6. (good for travelers) 4 Stereo Jack/minijack from headphone port of the pod to "line in" of the PC. useful for recording guitar AND backing track on the same track 5 usb port, useful for recording guitar on a single track without BT ; mono or stereo (for 4 and 5, need to specify to the PC what kind of port is used for recording) 6-7 yes !! ;-) I send all of this on 2 small combos. let's be positive, it's cheap, you get stereo effects, etc... lots of advantages 8 simple guitarport soft to drive all specs of the pod 9 recording soft : simple and free solution with audacity 10 and of course guitar pro 5.2 11 GMC http://......... Dec 15 2007, 09:11 AM	GMC:er Posts: 210 Joined: 1-July 07 From: troy new hampshire	@ milenkovic Ivan I guess i did go a small bit over board on just a small hook up for a pod xt.............but yes i do go thru a stereo chanal on the board......It is a all digital setup........and has a sound card interface with the board.. with a sub word clock processor.................to run out board gear......for a bass setup , guitar setup,,,,, drums.................and vocals........but getting into the why and what not... is a totaly other topic.. So to stay on topic..............I would say invest in a quality sound card you dont have to spend you life saveings on one................just one that will give you a bit of flexabilty..................most now have alot plug styles on them........to just plug in and play.... sorry for the tech way...........I somtimes forget to just keep it simple and i was once in there shoes as well ...
