I really appreciate you guys participating in this thread! I was a little worried it might sink before anybody got the chance to participate. But so far it has turned out a really great experience! smile.gif

Amen biggrin.gif

I have learned more from Pavel and Muris than any other guitarist ever.

Other influences taught me to play cool licks and dream big, but these two are showing me how to play guitar. cool.gif

My talk of these is not meant to discredit other GMC instructors, I just have not had time to learn many other lessons as these two represented exactly what I lacked as a player when I joined.

Whoops,
I did not read the starting post first so, my Late Grandfather (Fishing partner) Taught me how to be a man and live life as it was meant to be. He was by far my biggest earthly influence. My 10 yo daughter would be second as she is a bit smarter than me and is willing to show me. She is making me, who I am. It is a work in progress. We are great friends.

For me it has to be stephen king (I love his fantasy stuff) it distracts me so i dont think about the stresses of life (complete escapism!)

Thats also why I love music so much I can lose myself in it.

Other than that I think David Wallimann is my fave tutor on the site cos I can just about play most of his lessons! so he is my guitar hero! laugh.gif

My mother - my parents divorced when I was very young and she worked 3 jobs to keep the house and put food on the plates. Can't say my father as he was not a nice man and in many ways I try to be as different from him as I can be.

Boy, you read my mail on that one.

I truly feel for you and I came from the same type home, my Mom is an Angel.

Sorry mattacuk I've been thinking since I saw this topic but thurth seem to be that I have no heroes in specific.

Maybe this will do? Heroes to me are these anonymous people that do their part in helping the needey, wether it's helping the poor or trying to put a stop to bullying of kids. They are my heroes, those who without egoistic thoughts will sacrifice part of them selves to make the world a better place.
Also bullied kids who wake up everyday to face a new day of hell and doing their best to hang in there. They are heroes too!

I'd like to take the moment in opportunity (**oh no, not a speach**) to urge adults here to meddle in when seeing a bullying act. Most adults just walk by glaring, which I find a bit scary how they can just not care.
I put myself in the middle to stop it. It happens seldom that I spot a beating or bulliyng but maybe throught out the years I've become someones hero laugh.gif

MickeM, this is infact a really great post! Its just the sort of example I was looking for. Anyone who helps kids out in the such a manner is definatly a Hero for sure! smile.gif

I think most heroes often never get recognition! sad.gif
