Ok so this is another very simple suggestion I have smile.gif

How bout including in lessons suggestions to other lessons on this site that by learning them it will be easier to learn the lesson.

For example let's take Muris's Lukathere Style Lesson:
It could have suggestions to Pavel's Alt Picking lessons and Lavendell's Vibrato lessons, since the lesson has those two techniques in a more advanced level.
Now, it shouldn't say:"you SHOULD learn this before you learn this lesson"
but something like:"If you learn or progress to a certain bpm in those lessons, this lesson will be easier to learn!"

What do you think? smile.gif

P.S:The idea came to me after watching Jerry's Delay lesson in which he suggest checking out David O'Tool's Delay lesson which is more basic on Delay.

It is a great idea, maybe something like "recommened viewing" or something!

I believe tags are quite useful here. smile.gif
Per example, follow link in my signature to my lessons.
Now,you can see tag for every lesson, picking, legato, tapping or whatever.
Then just simply type specific tag into "search" field and you'll get many lesson in same field.
there are too many lessons on GMC to have them all connected together
regarding to techniques and maybe level.
That's just my point of view, will see what tech stuff has to say about it. smile.gif

Yeah therefor I think it should be up to the instructor, afterall who knows better how to prepare for a lesson then the one who make it? smile.gif

Ahh,like small hints?
No problem at all. smile.gif
I can't add link to the lesson but I can write something like:
Related lessons
-Pavel's picking lessons
-Walimann's modes lessons
-Marcus Vibrato Lessons etc.

Is that what you mean?

Yup exactly! you could add something like:

-Pavel's Alt Picking 1 lesson - 100 bpm
-Walimann's modes lesson - 100 bpm
-Marcus Vibrato 1 Lesson - 60 bpm

etc laugh.gif

It would be a great idea, but it would probably take a full time administrator to catalogue all the lessons and link them properly!

From (recent) experience, if you take any similar lick or lesson (it can even be one lick from a lesson), and concentrate on it at a slow pace, your technique should improve enough to show results in your target piece.

Mind you, it is still a maze of good licks out there!!

P.S:The idea came to me after watching Jerry's Delay lesson in which he suggest checking out David O'Tool's Delay lesson which is more basic on Delay.
smile.gif smile.gif

I have thought about a similar suggestion few weeks ago.
Now we have a lot of lessons and it's hard to manage them.
I missed many lessons in the last months and I hope to view more on Christmas holidays.
Anyway, a kind of "recommened viewing" from each instructor (or just Kris biggrin.gif ) could be useful.

As all the lessons are already tagged, maybe the tags should also appear on the lesson page..

That way it would display what is in the lesson- and be clickable to open a search to other lessons covering that technique.....?

Sounds like a small amount of effort too blink.gif

i think this idea is great. another great feature would be to have a difficulty meter on the lessons. I think this would help out beginner guitarists allot. that way they would instantly know if a lesson was for a begginer, intermediat or expert player.

If I remember correctly, Kris said in a past topic that there will be difficulty rankins on lessons sometime in the future.

Nice idea, I`ll keep this in mind for my own lessons. But I also share my oppinion with Muris who stated a nice and flexible way to search for simillar lessons. Just enter ones instructor lesson list, and then on the right search for similar lessons of other instructors. It can be very handy in systemizing lessons together.
