Well Boss makes great pedals in the 120-140$ range. I just picked up a Boss Phaser pedal which i love.. but i only got this after trying out a small stone 1.. the smallstone 1 would pick up radio stations on my tube amp but nothing else.. so i traded it for boss. If you wait a bit more boss makes great multi effect boards which are super cool and fun to play with smile.gif

What do you need? If you want a distortion, nothing beats the metal muff IMO. That thing is mean.

Or go for a boss dd6 delay pedal, pretty awesome box.

I presume you mean delay\chorus\phaser when you wrote effect? Try the Boss, i have all my pedals boss and they are very sturdy pedals. THere are off course better pedals than boss but when you like somthing yuou like it if you know what i mean smile.gif

Also try some Wah pedals. THey can give a totaly new dimension to your playing.

If you got 200 bucks to spend on a single pedal I would look at some custom pedals or modded pedals. Why not set yourself apart from the riff-raff? wink.gif

what do you guys think of the line 6 pocket Pod multi effects processor for 120? It seems to cover alot of effects and then I still have around 100 to spend on a wah pedal.

I bought the PP last month and I can't believe all the great stuff that is packed in this small package. Keep in mind that this little thing lets you create your own tones and grab other peoples created tones through free downloadable software. Best 120 I have ever spent. Max

Line 6 makes some great equipement...But I would recomend you to go for pedal effects..Collect money and build a pedalboard over time..You don't need to do it in a moment..Unexpencive multieffects can make you more harm than good.(Example: I see people playing korg, digitech muliteffects on gigs (middle class cost) and non of them has a good sound..).But for home practise only and some demo recording can be good !! For everything else buy one pedal effect (and you'll be shure that it won't degrade your overall tone) , chorus is always interesting / flanger also..But a good quality wah pedal - Dunlop crybaby 535q is a must have..Also a delay pedal (digitech or boss - test to see what you like)...
These are my recomendations...And also good thing with pedals is you can't get enough of them and are very fun to buy(collect hhehe) wink.gif

Bogdan is right wink.gif You can`t really use line6 devices on stage. Buy a wah pedal and the rest you can spend for anything that suits your needs. if you are gigging than buy a pedal, if not buy a POD or a TonePort.

BBallkid , tell us what effect you are looking for and for what use (gigs, practise, home recording) ? Also what equipment do you have (guitar/amp) and what style are you into. Than we can be more specific..There are lots of great manufactures of great stuff out there wink.gif
Electro Harmonic pedals are great also , but little more expensive...
