Sorry man, but it's probably a hardware failure. I'm adding links to Microsoft support page and a wikipedia article on this. Unfortunately you will probably have to send your 360 to Microsoft to be fixed. sad.gif

Common failure of the first 360 series. Microsoft extended the guarantee up to 3 years so you can send it in and let this be fixed permanent. Or you can let some electronics dude repair it for arround 30$.

im gonna take it to microsoft...i hear a trick to have it work temorarily called the towel trick. Its when u get a towel and wrap it around ur console and leave ot for good 20 minutes..the only thing that worries me about that is causing a fire

the towel trick does work safely but it just makes it work for like a week the first time then you redo it and it works like 4 days and eventually its boned but yeah its still under warranty with microsoft til like 2008 so just call customer support [1-800-4myxbox] and they should be able to tell you what to do.

Your Xbox is pretty much fried.. I did hear that Microsoft allegedly said something about repairing all Xbox's from 2007 and older.
I don't know if this is true, but it doesn't hurt to call MS customer service and ask for a possible repair or replacement!
Best of luck. wink.gif

Originally Microsoft had included a 1 year warranty with their units. Because of the error of their ways and without sending out a recall they extended the warranty to 3 years knowing the majority of 1st generation consoles were going to go bad. No recall meant they could deal with the defects one at a time instead of a flood allowing the cost to Microsoft to be a ton less while still taking care of the consumer. The problem is even if you bought your console a year later or even more you still quite possibly could have purchased a first gen console hence the 3 year warranty. I know this doesn't help your situation but at least you know you're not the only one and they will most definitely take care of you. They will usually send out a refurb but if you're lucky like me in this instance (very rare trust me) they sent me a brand new one.

Good luck!!!!

That sucks man sad.gif but yeah, you should be okay if you just send it to Microsoft, I've heard that they usually send you back a now one/fixed one.

Good Luck!!!

So youve got the 3 red lights ?

Congrats. Now you can play your guitar for a month well doing the following.

Call Microsoft and wait on hold for about an hour and then talk to one of there supervisors , after giving them enough info they will then send you a box in the mail .

Usually with no shipping problems this takes about 3-4 days

Once you recieve the box you must put your xbox and only your xbox in the box ( that means no harddrive!)

This is the hard part. You must then wait for about 3 weeks for Ups to send your Xbox back

Pretty dumb, I know. Little trick, Tell Xbox your moving to New York in a week and you need it as quick as possible and it always works.
