Ahh i hated die hard 4.0 thought it was a cheap cash in the best bit in the entire film was the fight with the F-35b.Just like most of the sequels from last year but not as bad as pirates which was shockingly bad

i didnt really like the part when he was surfing on the wing of a jet whilst in flight- didnt really strike me as believable

>am i remembering that scene correctly though? If not- fairly cool film, it was a slightly different Die Hard but it was a fresh idea.

Sure, I think Die Hard is kinda stupid, but it's really entertaining and awesome action smile.gif

Oh dude, Pirates of the Caribbean 3, ROFL!! Ridicilous! I just stopped half way through the movie. Not one single time during the movie I understood what was going on. Amazingly boring and eternal lasting movie.

Jumping in here buuuut my favourite movies (in no real order) are......

JAWS
Oldboy
The Big Lebowski
The Matrix (only when pretending the second and third film don't exist laugh.gif )
Before Sunrise
Before Sunset
Jurassic Park (for nostalgia factor)
Spinal Tap (effin' Stonehenge! laugh.gif )
No Country for Old Men
Lord of the Rings trilogy (these are more like an annual event come Christmas time)
Die Hard (best christmas movie ever!)
Aliens
A Scanner Darkly (disliked it at first but completely changed my opinion by the end)
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang - still the best single movie experience i've had in a cinema (unfortunately loses some sparkle when watched on the small screen without company!)
Donnie Darko (theatrical cut) - this only counts for the first time i watched the film. Subsequent viewings become less enjoyable once you've figured out what's going on.
The Incredibles - my favourite Pixar film so far.
Rocky
Rocky 4 - whilst undoubtedly cheesier than hell, this was a childhood favourite, plus Ivan Drago owns your soul.
Back to the Future - 1.21 gigawatts!!!

Welllllllll i'm sure there are more but those are the only ones i can remember off the top of my head!

Why aren't Ishtar and Snakes on a Plane on anyone's list?

laugh.gif Remember the Far Side cartoon where the caption was 'Hell's video store' and the only videoes on the shelf were Ishtar!!!
As for 'Snakes on a plane'; any time a movie has the line 'If you wanna live, you better come with me.....IF you wanna live', has to be played for laughs. Only 'Anaconda' comes close to that movie for unintentional laughs.

Saw that today, one of the best action films i have ever seen, the story is great, not super cheesy, the vivid depiction of war in Burma caught me off guard, it really makes you think, and of course, the action was superb!!!

Just a beautiful movie, Stallone may be 60+ years old, but he is still built like a tank and this movie he is on top of his game!

Ugh.. where to start..
I'm completely OCD when it comes to collecting horror and obscure movies.

My favs would be (of the most known ones):
The Beyond
Suspiria
Dawn of the Dead
Zombi 2
Cannibal Holocaust
Evil Dead (all 3)
Re-Animator

I thought the Matrix 2 was even better than the first since it has more action and gets into philosophy a lot more. The movie is loaded full of themes/overtones/symbolism/allusions/etc that makes it great for a nerd like me to sink my teeth into.

The matrix 3 was horrid. To me, it seemed like "alright, sorry guys, we apologize for getting over your head on the second one, here's one loaded with shiny things and no real plot to cap off the trilogy". If not for all of the dumb masses in the viewing majority we could have had a proper conclusion to the series.

Other films I really enjoy:

Interview with the Vampire
The Blade trilogy (good action sequences tongue.gif)
Old Boy
This is Spinal Tap
V for Vendetta (some of the most gorgeous dialog, especially his introduction of himself to Evey)
Gladiator
Braveheart
Starship Troopers
Grandma's Boy
The Departed
