I've got a really annoying problem, when I use my neck pickup it sometimes barely come any sound at all, I don't really know how to explain it. When I change to the neck pickup, sometimes it's ok and sometimes it's like that, so I was thinking it could either be the neck pickup itself or the pickup choser (or whatever it's called). I know it's not very well described, but I have no idea what it cvould be otherwise. I went in to my guitar store today, and he checked the guitar and changed the contact where you put the cable in the guitar, that made it a bit better, but I still have the problem now. If anyone could give some advice, it would be awesome. Did it work before? I'd start checking the soldering from the pickup to the pot, whether it's fine or hanging by a thread. Put electrical spray on, don't _spray_ but apply with a piece of cotton f.ex. You were from sweden, or? Don't use things "oil" like 5-56 or WD-40. Use something like http://www.nordicnet.se/MainNyheter$/...tail/n_id-8193/ Then check the switch it it's not connected all the time, wiggle it a little. The 3-way switches (on LP's) can have one of it's legs flabby and loose one position. -------------------- My bands homepage

Thanks a lot all for replying. Smells: It's a PRS SE custom, so it's got a toggle swich like gibson. And yeah, it cracles a bit, but it's done that for quite a while. I'll still check it out. RIPDime: Yeah, the bridge pickup is fine, and the neck pickup is sometimes fine, so I guess it must be the selector. MickeM: Yeah, it worked before, it just became like this today. Yeah, I'm from sweden so thanks for the link, and I'll try those things. maybe check the switch first? Open and check the legs if they are visible. -------------------- My bands homepage

Yeah I looked and everything seemed fine there. So I guess trying some of that kind of spray would be the next step now.

try the spray as MickeM says apply with a cloth.
when you wiggle the switch, does it seem to make any connection and the pickup works? even if intermitently? -------------------- |

try the spray first, but sounds like you`ll need to replace the switch

If you have a warranty then I`d definatly make use of that mate and get someone else to do it, you may invalidate it if you do it yourself.

Yeah, that sounds reasonable, all connections seemed good, so I'll just hope that the spray will do the magic.
