Ok, so the great news is tonight we have formed a new GMC Virtual Band "Valley Soldiers"

This will be the 6th band added to the list and I`d love for us to add more when more members are forthcoming wink.gif

I decided to open up a sixth band as Leedbreak wanted to form a Christian Rock band, I thought that this would be different and interesting so with members that have already expressed an interest (PM`ing them all ofc first) we`ve put together this group.

I`d love to hear from anyone out there wanting to start a band for Jazz, Blues, Funk etc I have a few members on my list that are waiting to either join exsisting bands or form a new one if the genre and level is right for them.

Just send me a PM if you think you can be Band Leader and kik off your own project, read THIS first, it may help answer some of your questions.

Anyone interested in wanting to be a band member for future recordings/projects please register your interest in **Want to be a Band Member** and I will PM you as soon as poss smile.gif

Look forward to hearing from you, all the best

Chris (Smells)

The following list is member names that have registered interest in joining a Virtual Band:

Soul Decision
USAMAN
Joey
Xucphra
Kaznie_NL
Jakub Luptovec

the members in the list above could you please post here or PM me your playing level (beg, int, adv) and what style of music you want to play also if you`d be able to "Lead" a band? so you`ll need suitable software etc to record and mix your bands performances, just a brief post will do.

I know a couple of you have already done this but so I have it here in some order it will help a lot and may get something else started sooner smile.gif

thanks biggrin.gif

PM'ed you Chris.
And I'll post it here too.

I am intermediate. I'd like to play basically anything that's not religious; because I'm not a very religious person.
And I can play metal/thrash or rock/punk. Whatever really.
I'd be willing to lead a band. I can do vocals as well, seeing as I do it for my actual band.
Um, I have Audacity, Guitar Tracks, Guitar Pro 5, Nuendo, etc. If I need any more software, I can buy it [got some extra cash saved up from the past Christmas, seeing as I didn't have to buy anyone anything since my girlfriend broke with me]. And well I'm getting myself a Pod X3 Live in a few weeks, depending on how well I do at work and whether I get this raise I've been waiting for. If not, then about a month from now

***ACID SPILL***

Ok this update is regarding the Virtual Band "Acid Spill", you may have noticed that there hasnt been any activity for some time sad.gif ... but ... hopefully thats all about to change biggrin.gif

"Melvyn" has taken over as leader for this group and is going to continue along the same style as the band was originally intended and he`s hoping to introduce some original material that he has written also smile.gif

The band will still involve Instructor "Toni Suominnen" biggrin.gif but unfortunatly Alex Lewis has had to drop out for the meantime due to PC problems sad.gif hopefullly he will be able to rejoin in the future smile.gif

So ... ideally we could do with at least another one or two members joining up with Melvyn and Toni to complete the line up and get Acid Spill back on track again.

If you are interested in joining either let myself or Melvyn know.

Kyle very kindly agreed to help out as I was struggling with time to programme the drums for this song, the greatness of GMC shines throug again, thanks Kris for bringing on board excellent Instructors willing to give up some time to help us all out.

Thanks Kyle biggrin.gif

Small Dragons

Unforunatly due to lack of activity, band leader for the Small Dragons "Twibeard" has decided to fold the band for now.

I`ve had a few conversations with Twibeard over the last couple of months and he has hung on so far but some of the members have not contributed at all since the band started in December and its been having a negative effect on his own motivation which I think is totally understandable.

But anyway, sad news as this is, I`ve decided not to get down about it and look to see what we can learn from this!

Before joining a band or requesting to join a band you really have to think if you have time to take part, band members that are active on the band are waiting and sometimes cant do their takes without specific parts, are you going to hold them back? if so, as great an idea as it may appear to join a Virtual Band can you really contribute?

The Virtual Bands area is hopefully soon going to be given a little more exposure on the forum and therefore band members need to be active in their respective bands.

I`m really pleased that all the other bands are progressing, and urge them to keep up the great work they are doing and I`m looking forward to hearing more of your takes and completed songs smile.gif

Anyone wishing to reinvent the Small Dragons can send me a PM and we`ll discuss smile.gif

After the disbandment of Small Dragons I`ve given it some thought and decided to tighten up on the guidelines a little to try and avoid anyting like this in the future. I have added in to the "Want to be a band membr" thread the following guidelines

Anyone joining any band has to be invloved in the bands thread on a regular basis, once initial recordings are made you need to be uploading your takes also as requested, I`ve suggested (like collaborations) that deadlines be set by the band leaders if they wish, as another by product of the collapse non active members are going to be contacted by me and given a chance to fulfill there parts by a certain time, its not fair on other active members of the group to wait endlessly for peoples takes.

I think this will help if all members are pulling in the right direction smile.gif

Obviously a lot of this is going to be down to band leaders as well to chase up their members for takes etc and use me to fall back on if required.

Having said all that I think the bands are still progressing nicely and of course still experiencing some teething problems here and there but on the whole I`m really pleased with how we`re all doing biggrin.gif

biggrin.gif we have a new band on the block ready to rock our socks off!

Welcome to the area "Citizens Failure"

Band members so far are Skennington and Bondy, both have a good "active" history both with VB`s and with me personally, so I`m expecting this to be a good active band along with the others biggrin.gif

At a guess I`d say they`d be open to some extra members? (Maybe Bondy and Skenny can clarify that for me please)

First songs gunna be an AC/DC cover - Highway to Hell, really looking forward to hearing it guys

Good luck biggrin.gif

The new Band Leader thats hopefulyl gunna jump start the group into some action is "Gus" biggrin.gif

Gus has been taking part in some collabs so along with Deeproots and possibly others?? wink.gif we can get some great songs out of Acid Spill, and get them off the ground.

Good luck guys!!
