I can't seem to reply to Kristofer's collaboration thread here: http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_fo...mp;#entry504038
It says that I don't have permission. Also I can't create a thread there, have I been blocked in that forum board?
Me and a friend of mine have been messing about the past couple of days with a track which I can only describe as creepy. Our idea for this was to create some music that would be best suited for a horror movie or a survival horror game or something like that. Not your typical music to listen to but I think we've kind of achieved that vision. It's nowhere near finished but I thought I would share with you what we've got so far and see what you guys think.
Not much guitar to hear here, yet. But it'd be good to get an opinion on what you think of it and if it conjures any sort of images in your head as you listen to it. Be sure to hear it through some decent headphones/speakers and up loud to get the full effect .

First of all I apologise if this has been asked before but I didn't see it. I was wondering if you would be able to give me a bit more information about what you practice. I was wondering what kind of exercises you practice on the guitar, what kind of songs you learn, what you do to improve your songwriting skills and what you did in the early stages of songwriting which helped you improve writing.
I notice you've done quite as lessons and songs so I was wondering if you could spill what you do especially when trying to aim towards a particular style of musical. Thanks

I'm trying to figure out what effects are being used on this guitar track the link is included below. It begins at around 1:32 the dreamy kind of guitar sound. I know it isn't anything special but I'm curious about it. I'm pretty sure for starters that they're using an ebow rather than a pick and there's quite a bit of reverb in there. They're possibly using some flanger as well but I'm not too sure about it. I have an ebow and have tried a few different sounds and I don't get close to that. Anyone have any ideas?

Katatonia have a new album out today and I was disapointed when I went into HMV and they haven't got it yet, nevermind. Anyway you can hear some of the tracks on youtube and they are pretty good in my opinion their previous albums are awesome but this is sounding very promising.
