I've always liked music from the Middle East but just lately I have started to really enjoy it. I want to explore the area more and play it on guitar, so I was wondering if any of you know what characterizes the music? The only thing I know is a lot of trills and ethnic scales. And are there any good artists or anything like that on Amazon?

Yeah what artists would you give as an example to this style. I like Nile's riffs but they might be a bit heavy for some.

I have Ithypallic or whatever. It is pretty cool, but yea the real thing is way cooler than Egyptian inspired death metal, just my two cent.

Yeah. I have heard some great Middle Eastern music but I think Nile do a good job of recreating it but yeah there are some amazing Middle Eastern acts and I'm going to follow this topic to see if anybody gives any artists to check out.
