Day after day I just keep falling more for the Beautiful side of music, rather than just cool distortion riffs.

So, now I'm on a quest for composing. And I won't rest until I manage write a song SO beautiful, that even the hardest and cruelest of men will break into tears as they hear the sweet melodies of Tuubsu's masterpiece! mad.gif ......... laugh.gif

So, Let's gather up some gorgeus music to study and for the sheer pleasure of listening too, beautiful music, Any music style, Any instruments(no need for guitar), no matter how old or new, a possible link to youtube or some other video site would be great ofcourse, if possible.

Now it's hard to define Gorgeus music, it's a lot about opinion but I'll put couple of links for starters:

Here are a few I think are very beautiful:

Dragonheart Theme

Enya - May It Be

Nearer My God to Thee - I'm not much of a church goer but this song always makes me choke up.

The Dark Island - This was my Grandfathers favourite song and he use to sing this to me as a wee lass smile.gif This is just an instrumental of the song but it is a beautiful version with some great shots of Scotland.

There are a couple from Andrea Boccelli I wanted to add but for some reason youtube is acting screwy for me now. I'll add them later.

A song that puts tears in my eyes is Lotus Feet. I love it. Steve Vai´s performance is so incredible! Click here for the masterpiece. I just watched it... Has anybody got a handkerchief?

Anothe song I love is "In Sorrow´s Wake" by Andrew York. It´s really easy to play and it sounds awesome. Just listen.

That´s my 2 cents. smile.gif

No, it wasn't that... But I got it! I don't have any idea where the roses came from but, it was this here:

Augustin Barrios, "Un sueno en la floresta", played by John Williams:

This is beatiful:
Colour Haze - Love
Canis
Two songs come into mind...

The Elderscrolls Suite, a man wo took the awesome theme of the Elderscrolls games Morrowind and Oblivion, and made a long piano medley. Just dim the lights, lean backwards, close your eyes and listen... It's so beautiful ^^

Also, it's not a "classical masterpiece", but I really wanna recommend Raintime - Finally Me. Perfection within music... My favorite song of all time!

Some other beautiful songs:
Somewhere over the rainbow performed by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole
The same song performed by Connie Talbot. Very sweet! smile.gif
The same song performed by Jeff Beck. smile.gif
Ctodd
Andy Mckee - Rylynn

A prime example of a man and a guitar and beautiful music.

WELL IF YOU WANT SOMETHING TO LISTEN TO FOR A CHANGE MAY I SUGGEST SOME KEITH URBAN, YEAH THATS RIGHT A COUNTRY/POP ROCK ARTIST. THE MAN CAN WRITE, PLAY JUST ABOUT ANY INSTRUMENT AND HIS VOCALS ARE EXCELLENT. I HAD THE CHANCE TO SEE HIM IN CONCERT LAST SUMMER AND TO BE HONEST HE IS ONE HECK OF A GUITAR PLAYER.

ENJOY
