Yes you should have got a X3 instead
Now you will need a soundinterface like a Line6 toneport, Lexicon, Presonus, Edirol etc. which will cost you between $100-200 depensinf on model. (very rough estimation) With the X3 you wouldn't have to get a separate soundinterface but the X3 is one in itself.
Maybe someone who owns a POD 2.0 has found a bettwe way, but an USB/Firewire interface is how I would do.
And mind that with the X3 you get all the add ons etc already inluded (cost $50 each for metal packs and so forth) + vocals + dual sounds which is just brilliant for a full soundscape.
Did you get the 2.0 in a store? Add the cost for it + a metal pack if you need that + soundinterface and I guess the leap to a X3 isn't _that_ big.
EDIT:
I see now that you can get a Lexicon Alpha or Maudio fastrack for $99.99 to get away with less than $100 spend on a soundinterface.
