I REALLLLLY want to be able to use computer software for recording on my pc. I can connect with a midi cable to my pc...but only to download tones. Anyone know of a way to record onto a pc and use studio software with a 2.0? The manual says nothing about this.

Yes you should have got a X3 instead wink.gif
Now you will need a soundinterface like a Line6 toneport, Lexicon, Presonus, Edirol etc. which will cost you between $100-200 depensinf on model. (very rough estimation) With the X3 you wouldn't have to get a separate soundinterface but the X3 is one in itself.

Maybe someone who owns a POD 2.0 has found a bettwe way, but an USB/Firewire interface is how I would do.
And mind that with the X3 you get all the add ons etc already inluded (cost $50 each for metal packs and so forth) + vocals + dual sounds which is just brilliant for a full soundscape.

Did you get the 2.0 in a store? Add the cost for it + a metal pack if you need that + soundinterface and I guess the leap to a X3 isn't _that_ big.

EDIT:
I see now that you can get a Lexicon Alpha or Maudio fastrack for $99.99 to get away with less than $100 spend on a soundinterface.

You should have gotten the Toneport mate, it's a good device for desktop recording.

If you just want to use a software to record, check out Gearbox from Line 6 smile.gif

You can always get a Toneport GX for 80 bucks, will do the job nicely. That's what I did after getting a pocketpod and being in the same situation you are now Praetorian. Toneport GX works like a charm. Provided you need to recod just 1 instrument at a time, if you need two at a time then check Toneport UX1 or even UX2, but those are a bit more expensive.

Or get a pandora px5d. Or a POD X3.

Just in case you haven't tried: you can hook your line out from the pod 2 into your soundcard and recird that way. Problem is, unless you have a really good soundcard, it will have latency, which means you won't be able to hear what you play in real time, and that is not good at all. Give it a try, who knows, might work.

If not: Toneports, pandora px5d, X3... in order of ascending cost.

Thanks guys! I am not looking to record more than one instrument...just my guitar. I'll look into those options!
