Hello Kris I was wondering if you could make a lesson which shows how to go from a power chord to a basic chord like a d or g basic chord etc. (I know how to do them but not on how to combine them.)

Easy to combine. Grab a scale or chord progression. I'll use this as an example, G, D, C and E minor.

There's a way of playing a G chord where you hold the note above your pinky (3rd fret. B string) , with your middle finger. When changing to D keep that finger in place. This is called a Common note. When changing to C, Just change completely, It's all about practice, but most chords have a common note. From C to minor, keep your middle finger on the 3rd fret D string. It should flow pretty smoothly like that. You need to practice chord changes to get them right though.

What do you mean exactly?

If you want to go from a D power chord to a basic G chord, you would just go straight to the open G chord I guess.

You could also go from this:
x577xx (D)

to this:
xx578x (G)

You would just drop down.. but it would be a much higher pitched G.

Ahh, Sorry, I thought he was talking about chord->chord changes..I didn't see the Power.

You would just go to the open chord(I do it all the time) but there is no shortcut way since open chords have different fingerings - unlike power chords where you can keep the same fingerings and just move up and down the fretboard. Another thing is to think about what you are trying to accomplish, since powers and opens have different sounds. Powers usually sound good with Distortion(Since your eliminating the higher notes), where as open chords have the higher notes and can sometimes sound bad with distortion.
