Check this video that I explained to Dexxter how to play over this. I hope everything is clear. See you soon.

Hi Emir.
Here are my takes on the last week assignment. Both in 8th notes and 16th notes.
When trying to improvise with this backing track I reminded of "Thank you" solo by Led Zeppelin, which later I checked to use the same scale.

Hi Gus and sorry for this big delay. I had some family trouble and had to fly back home. Now I am back and ready to move on.
These takes are very good. I am very happy to see that you feel pretty comfortable with these scales. You stopped a couple of times but that's ok. It will get better. The mark would be 8.5 out of 10 for this one. Very good job.
Are you able to produce backing tracks yourself? If so then we can continue with some more complex things where we can use this scales in a more interesting way. Check Dexxter's assignment thread and pick the last task I have just given to him. The assignment for you is exactly the same. I would like you to post it by next Sunday - November the 22nd if you can.

Good luck
Welcome back. I hope everything is fine now.
About the backing track, I never tried to make one myself. As I am playing live with a new repertoire 2 weeks from now, I think it is maybe better if I skip trying making a backing track until that. Another option (which I prefer) is: I can actually make a "backing track" with acoustic guitar and do the exercise anyway. What do you think?

Yes, that would work as well More important is that you undrestood the whole assignment. Backing can be acoustic in your case.

Hi Emir.
Sorry I could not try the assignment yet.
After a long time I will gig again next Friday, so I am polishing the set list...
I think I will only be able to do it next weekend.

Ok Gus, I'll wait for that one then That will be NOV 29th.
The new rule says that all of you guys have to submit at least one REC take by the end of the month so that's another thing you should do. Pick any GMC lesson and post it there and here. I can help you with anything you chose to play. After that I will lock this month assignment threads and we'll move onto the next stage.

Oh, I think I read this a little too late... I'll do both A.S.A.P.

Sorry Gus but looks like this round has finished. I have already received a list of new members and we'll need to close this month thread. Thanks for taking part in the MTP program

Hi Emir, sorry I did not return to you before. I recorded the REC entry and it is just missing editing. But I am still to record the assignment.
I've been under real pressure at my work and I haven't been accessing GMC a lot nor practicing guitar. So I don't think I will be able to finish the assignment in December.
So would you mind to pause the MTP and resume it on January? Thanks in advance.

Hi Emir.
Things ended up that I could only restart mtp now on the new phase (March).
Thanks to mtp last year, my improvisation skills improved a lot.
Now, if possible I would like to focus somehow on perfecting alternate picking and speeding it up a lot. I can make a nice improvisation over a 80 bpm slow ballad track, but it really annoys me that I can not play properly at a faster track of 120-130 bpm...

I am waiting for your video and we'll do some picking excercises. Don't worry about the tempo just submit correct notes

Yep. Problem is I am having trouble to play the right notes So it took me long to post Essentially the C#7 in half bar is killing all my takes...
The exercise was to play over the backing Am | Dm7 | E7 | Am| Am | Dm7 | E7 | Am, C#7 | F#m | E | D | A, C#7 | F#m | E/G# | D | E7 | A
The modes I chose were A aeolian | D dorian | E mixolydian | A aeolian | A aeolian | D dorian | E mixolydian | A aeolian , C# mixolydian| F#m aeolian | E ionian | D lydian | A ionian , C# mixolydian| F#m aeolian | E ionian | D lydian | E mixolydian | A ionian
Therefore, the modal roots I wast thinking of were: C | C | A | C | C | C | A | C, F# | A | E | A | A, F#| A | E | A | A
Well, as I mentioned before I am having trouble to follow the logic with so many changes. Specially on the bars with 2 chords. I post here the take where I made less mistakes. I know there are wrong notes now and there.

Hi Emir.
I am still working on the riffing variations lesson. I have mistakes even on 67 bpm. I am trying the same fingering as you and it is actually more tricky than I thought I think I will need your help to speed it up to tempo, but I think it will be a good target to REC in april. I am going on Easter vacation (come back next week). After that I will post the riffing variations how it is so you can help me.
You had some wrong notes in your take but it wasn't that bad overall. Also you didn't use all positions which I thought you would cover. You don't have to think of C over many chords. When you're in A minor you should think of A minor. I know it's the same as C but that way you will never remember modal shapes. This exercise should have helped you learn other shapes, not only major shapes. Anyway we'll move on soon.
There are 2 more to do for this month. It's not going to be this month but we will call it "this month"
