Some of the licks in there are hard. I'd go back to sleep until I woke up with an easier lesson in my head.
Maybe I could practice guitar entirley in my sleep for now on??

Not only when I wake up. I've always got some music playing in my head, sometimes even while I'm listening other music! Most of the time I switch the music to what's in my head to prevent becoming a nutjob XD

I love waking up with music inside my head. It happens a lot of times when I play in the night and then I go to sleep I just can't fall a sleep. Brain and ears are still processing and making new music, improvising composing and so on. Fantastic feeling

Yes I do! Problem is that sometimes it's a tune I don't even like

happens to me almost every day, and sometimes -and i really love this feeling- i wake up with a new idea or a new riff, and a lot of times those are just killer!
the thing is, right now i'm making a very rock n roll album and sometimes i woke with a very funk/disco riff in mind, those eventually become lessons
Sometimes I wake up hearing voices, they tell me to do things. For the most time it's the kids telling me to make breakfast.
ROFL !!!!!!!!

It happens to me, but I hear random phrases in 4/4 and 6/4 bars, I hear them sometimes during the whole day..

this morning it was joe cocker's "a little help from my friends" and just to clarify: I do not have a radio/alarm wake up. My wife's alarm plays a random song from surfing with the alien but that one goes off about two hours after I wake up.

This happens to me also very often. And most of times its the song I haven't been listening in ages...So I am always wondering how did I think of that one
