I thought our instructors were planning to collectively award the best collaboration take for each month. What happened to that plan?? (I think so far this month it goes to Davenport for his Djent collab take.)

I did bring up that idea, yes... to be honest, we must have forgotten about it !

P.S. Just checked out Davenport's mental solo.. that was damn good ! I think it should be a case of the GMC members themselves putting forward the suggestions of what they think is the best take of the month, what do you think ?

I like this idea! I could suggest which could be the best of my collabs and then we can vote the best of the month.

Didn't we put that off again because we didn't want a competition in this way? But I still think the idea is cool.

Well, let's just let the instructors decide. Personally I think we all know each other well enough and respect us for our playing abilities so much that it wouldn't be a problem among the students.
I remember that the described downside was brought up by an instructor, so maybe they can discuss this in their secret instructor board (yes, there is one), once they stop talking about chicks, booze and us.

So maybe we should start a thread and for each new month we will write it in bold, like

July - Nominations

(or something like that)

and each instructor can nominate their idea of the best take from their own collab (because it will be a bit laborious for us to go through each other's collabs and listen to every solo..) so we have the nominees.

From there, it should be open to the members to vote and pick their fave.

Then the next month we start a new post with the same heading in bold so it nicely separates the months. Or we could even start a new thread for each month ??

The only difficulty is that our collabs starts and end at different times and some of them overrun to the beginning of the next month so what we may have to do is to do a retrospective look at the month. For example, if we wanted to find the best solo for July's collabs, we would start the thread in August when all collabs have finished. It might be a bit confusing but I think we can do it.

Maybe you really could start the thread for Juli in August, discuss in your secret board which takes you wanna nominate, let Bogdan (he needs some work too ) start a thread with a voting poll where students can vote for one or two weeks. This would be least confusing for everybody.
Again, you would have to stop the weird discussions in your instructor board for a moment to set up the voting thread, but I think it's worth a try
