The thing is, I cant get it to work.
First thing, I cant install the ASIO driver, but in the description is says this one doesnt need drivers to work.
So, I got a few synth VSTs, like absynth, it doesnt work there either while using reaper.
Well the power works but cant in anyway get any sound out of that keyboard.
Im a bit confused with everything.
I want to use it for recording of course and I use it in a daw..
But I would like to use the synth built in sounds to start with.. but I have just no idea anymore

I have behringer umx25. And well, it seems to work. Be sure to install usb midi drivers. After turning the power on and connecting your keyboard you should see in reaper preferences in input devices your keybord and press enable. Than add a track, aim it for recording, than select the input device.
Or maybe you should read the manual.
yes i have midi driver, i could not install ASIO drivers, i connect it via USB.
Yes I found it in preferences and activaded, but still no sound...
i use the keyboard as MIDI input.. i have tried all kinds of inputs still no sound

Yeah that's what vst's are.
Btw in reaper after selecting new virtual instrument be sure to enable these options.

This is weird. When you record midi in a midi channel and play something in your keyboard, does Reaper record the midi information or the track keeps empty?

have you tried runing it thru an amp to make sure the keys are working
I usually try the simplest things first ,most of the time its the simple things that get us

It's midi controller, not a synth as i understand.

Yes - midi keyboards are just an input device, like computer keyboard and mouse.
It sends out signals in MIDI for which notes have you played.
It doesn't come with built in sounds and every sound must be played via software.

Thanks Bogdan, this actually cleared up my understanding on this subject as well! I had always wondered what VSTs were.
