I have been on a "I have to play alt. picking tirade " for coming up on 5 years now, and cant come near to this
But, the inspiration (and Hope) that I have that one day I will. along with the backing tracks that are slowed down with keys to follow
to help train the brain( that might be a good band name), of course I have been sidetracked more times than I can count, always thinking that my time spent practicing this one has somehow prepared me for something else , a little less complicated
even though I can not alt. pick fast yet, I believe my time here has not been in vain as I am better with theory , sweeping, bending and just general comfort with my axe ( yes , she is a women). I just hope my stubbornness is able to get me through till I can alt. pick well.

I can remember this was the first lesson that helped me break my speed block of around 120bpm. smile.gif http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/move_y...le_finger!/

I agree with Maharzan regarding the lesson he posted. It has been really helpful for me as well, really developed my finger strength and helped my play smoother and faster.

I also found these lessons useful when I first started to really focus in on becoming a better rhythm player:

This lesson really helped me with being able to stretch my hands and reach difficult chord positions:

Ben's Land of Legato series was also extremely helpful in my developing a comfortable hand position for playing Legato.

I would like to add this beautiful piece that I always recommend for practicing expression techniques and timing.

Recently Ive noticed that my alt picking and speed has improved quite a bit from doing Todd's shred journey and Bens Hand Sync lesson . Even though Im only currently on lesson 3 of the shred stuff and still not at the full tempo of the sync lesson I have totally noticed that its helped me play other lessons much better.
for example, there's a picking section in one of Gabe's lessons which Ive been trying to play for ages and Ive just managed to bump it up by 10 bpm since starting on the shred and sync lessons.

Todd's Shred Journey is fantastic! What a pack of pure killer exercises to become a Shred master! smile.gif

I'll never get it up to speed but this one is useful at any speed, great for hand sync, getting around the neck and working on left hand fingering.

Hey guys!

My name is Jan (jeniiik3)

Apologies that I didn´t introduce myself earlier, I joined GMC about a month ago and I´ve been playing the guitar about 4 years so far, but I decided to take it more seriously and start practicing!
I´ve been practicing following lessons so far:

http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/solo-guit...inger-work-out/
http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/rhythm-gu...cking-exercise/
http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Hand-Synch/
http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Basic-Tapping/

Of course not at full speed smile.gif I must say that after a single month I can see improvement! My speed have developed and I think that I play more precise now smile.gif

And I really enjoy playing this lesson again and again smile.gif it helped me with timing a lot.

The first lesson that helped me to improve my skills, especially alternate picking was Derek lesson. Was and it are still good for me because I still practice on it. I always have the problem with pick direction (up, down, up, down) and because of that was a little impossible to improve my speed. Every practice for this is "annoing" but in Darek lesson was made it in a very musical way and everything became "fun". When I will play the lesson correctly, probably I will make a video and I will put in "Rec" section. But at this moment I need more practice smile.gif
