Hi Gregsiv! Welcome to Gab's Army!

Hello Gabriel,

Thanks for getting the thread setup. Let see if I can reply to your questions:

- How many time have you been playing guitar?

I played for about ten years then gave it up for a long after seeing Al Di Meola with Return To Forever in 1975. I picked it back up about twenty years ago.

- Favorite guitarists, bands and musicians.

Al Di Meola, Satriani/Vai, John Macglaughlin, etc. I saw RTF with Franck Gamballe a few years ago.

- What are your guitar goals?

Improve Timing, Improvising over chord changes,
- How would you like to you see yourself in 5 years (related to music and guitar)?

Add coherency to the bits and pieces that I have now. To be able to perform competently with like minded musicians.

- How many time can you play guitar each day?

I currently am able to spend a couple of hours per day on the guitar. During January-April it is much less but I do make time for it even if it is 3 or 4 in the morning.

- Do you have playing live experience?

Yes, played in a couple bands way back when (don't ask how far back). I jam every now and then.

- Which are your strong and weak points with guitar?

Strong: Tree notes per string shapes, modes.
Weak: Timing, Applied Theory, Repertoire, speed.

- What do you know about music theory?

Some Intervals, Triads, Circle of Fifths, Scale degree

- Can you record videos of you playing?

Yes, I can.

- Share here audios and videos that reflect your current playing.

Let see what I can put together.

Hi Greg! Thanks for your information. It is important for me to see some video of you playing. It can be a free improvisation over backing track, or you could learn a GMC lesson and record it.

When do you think that you'll be able to share it?

Hello Gabriel,

I uploaded it to YouTube, here is the link:

I used the the process detailed for submitting a REC since I could not upload the media file on this thread. Let me know if you received it if I should use a different procedure.

Thanks,

Hi Greg! The vid is still not working. Maybe you are setting it as private, don't you?

Hi Greg! Thanks for your video! It really helps me to see where we begin. I've designed a plan for the first week.

The idea is that you get into this lesson to get the basics of Alternate Picking. Your technique is not bad but you have hand sync issues and that's why it doesn't sound clean enough.

And then work on these technique lesson: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Altern...king-Workout-5/

And on the first WEEK#1 of the IMPROVISATION COURSE: LINK HERE.

Hello Gabriel,

I'm glad we finally crossed the technical hurdle. Thank you for the feedback, it gives me a number of things to focus on this week.

Regards,

Greg
