In this section post the things you did while learning the gutiar that you did wrong!!
MINE... when you start sweeping dont only practic down thats what i did and i can do it cean at 140 BPM... but going up its tough at 75 BPM its very sad so dont fall in my GUTIAR TRAP ...
Post other problems !

Don't play Downstrokes only!!!
I didn't practice alternate picking from the start and had troubles to learn it after I only downstroked everything. Also hold your pick right!
I used to hold it between my thumb and the tip of my index finger and that makes speedpicking impossible

You should keep it between thumb and middle of index finger - not the TIP of the index finger!
My mistakes? Don't know of any because i was alway learning from shred-masters like Angelo and Rusty, and only watching them can greatly help you! So i actually can't think of any problem i had that i had to re-learn!

My mistakes,
only practicing downstrokes
not sticking to learning something
ignoring scales and chords (I've been playing a year and know none)
