This is a trailer for an upcoming movie that seems very much ripped from the headlines. I don't know how they managed to put this together so quick. It's called "SONGBIRD"

The Best show of 2020 IMHO. It's called WARRIOR. It's based on the writings of Bruce Lee. It's produced by Shannon Lee. It's just after the irish and chinese immigration to the USA and follows the story of a young immigrant fighting his way up. I loved this show. I waited and watched the entire season before sharing it to make sure they were all worth watching. They were.
Does anyone else on GMC enjoy serialized shows?

Mandalorian is continuing nicely, they started bringing back old characters instead of killing them (for now ).
Infact its so successful they might build the whole starwars universe around it as no one liked the movies.

I can recommend some series and movies that I saw lately on Netflix.
I finished this week to see "The Barrier". It's a Spanish series. I really liked and I hope they will also make the season 2.
The Haunting of Bly Manor - another good series which fit for those who like the stories with ghosts. Who saw and liked The Haunting of Hill House probably will also like this one.
To the lake - it's a Russian series, about a virus that turns Moscow into a city of the dead.
The countdown - it's a horror movie that I saw it last night about an app that predict exactly when a person is going to die. I personally liked this one.
Greenland - another good apocalyptic thriller that I saw this week. This movie it's not available on Netflix.
What I would also recommend on Netflix it's "Song Exploder". It's a documentary where musicians breaks down their songs, sharing their personal inspiration behind the music and lyrics. At this moment is available only season one (season 2 come at the middle of December). I loved the episode 3, which is about R.E.M. - Losing My Religion. The depth interviews, archival footage and raw recordings are really awesome!!!
The Mandalorian just completed season 2. It was AWESOME. The best thing I've seen in quite a while. Even folks who never got in to Star Wars love this show and I can see why. It's well written, well acted, well produced, it's just good. As Mertay mentioned, it's spawned a wad of spinnoffs now on the Disney Channel streaming service.
Another big change is that Tent Pole movies from Warner Bros will now stream SAME DAY on HBO MAX. The first one will be Wonder Woman 1984. Then the entire years worth of movies will stream same day as theatre. They have seen the writing on the wall and big movies will now be a loss leader for getting people to sign up for hbo max.

VIKINGS IS BACK!! One of my fave shows ever. The first season was the best of course. It's done some silly things with the story, but I still love it. The music is amazing and it's an intense show Anyone else watching the last eps
this is to show maturity. Can I watch a episode each day or waste my life and binge watch

amazon prime members can watch the entire last season of vikings right now which is awesome For folks not using prime, it will be shown soon on history channel one ep per week. I loved how it wrapped up. SPOILER ALERT Bjorn does die. Ivar did run him through with a sword.
Some folks seem really thrown off by how historically wrong the show is. Not me. It's a TV show after all, not a documentary. Some of the characters were historical figures but most of the show is just using that as a basis for context. It's roughly about Vikings which is why it's called vikings
Just finished season 3 at the weekend. Absolutely loved it Great bit of nostalgia

A very cool documentary about ENSLAVED created with ENSLAVED Now that bands are touring due to covid, they might as well make a documentary I hope more bands do this. It's not in English but it is subtitled.

oddly enough, I did the same thing recently. LOVE those movies. Return of the king is one of the best things I've ever seen, full stop. I enjoyed the last movie in the hobbit series where they had the HUGE battle sequence. There was a bit of silliness in the hobbit movies but they were built for a younger audience after all. Still very enjoyable.
Like most folks, I've been through netflix it seems, twice So I find myself looking for new things. I'm very glad I found THE WATCH on PRIME. I don't think anyone else on GMC has Amazon Prime, or at least nobody has mentioned it. Some great shows on prime. like THE EXPANSE. which they saved after it was cancelled on broadcast tv. Also THE GRAND TOUR which is what's left of the original TOP GEAR. Some folks HATE that show of course, but there's not accounting for taste

That looks pretty good. A might give THE WATCH a watch
A get Amazon prime when there is something that I want to watch on it then I just cancel it after . A have a habit of watching tv series that I have already seen. Watching Dexter again for the 5th time and Sons of Anarchy for the 7th time. Thinking about watching 24 again. I have only seen it once and really enjoyed it.

A have being meaning to watch all the Lord of the Rings. Only managed to get a hour into the first film. I was going to do it over the Christmas break but ended up watching the Batman trilogy.
Think I am quite impatient with films and tv shows.If it doesnt grab my attention within the first 15minutes I turn it off. Although some films and shows I have done this with in the past I have gave them a second chance and loved them.

I did think about that but its sort of a comedy sketch series when you enter the channel, will do next time
Currently only watching Wanda-Vision. For the past 2 years I sort of faded away from series as there are too many out there and some I simply didn't get into their next season.
I also watch anime but not sure to recommend if one isn't already into it.

Any recommendations would be great! I love anime! That's why I created this thread For people to share series/movies that they have been watching so that other GMCers might find out about them as well. More about series/movies than about clips and such, hopefully. Sadly, not many shares about series/movies so far so please do add your anime suggestions Love to see them.

Cool
This is an oldie but if you haven't watched yet I'm very sure you'll like it since you're into horror and battle type series (but not the new one, find the 1997 original);
Edit; it's also famous for its soundtrack;
Also Hellsing (the newer (ova) is not bad but I liked the old better) is vampire based horror which also you might like.
As for the newer stuff;
Attack On Titan is playing its last season. Gets a bit complicated to understand at times but still nice. Mystic, bloody, political, war Jujutsu Kaisen; Ghost-Curse/Voodoo fighting based. Wasn't expecting to like it as story on surface doesn't seem interesting, yet the flow is very capturing. Urasekai Picnic; More classic horror based, not bloody and not much fighting for those who prefer.
For those with kids (probably 12+), Dr. stone will be nice. Not too boring for the parent and gives a cool aspect of science for the children.

Super thanks! I've added wads of ANIME to my netflix cue on your recommendation. Some of them I've never really heard of before now. Also, now that I"ve added some, my netflix suggestion row has tons of new anime that I've never ever hear about. I think some of them are actually paid for by Netflix as they are badged with a big red N. I didn't realize there was this much anime on netflix as I've not been getting any suggestions for it in my watch list. Now the algorithm must think I'm an anime NUT!
Gonna try this one
Netflix has their own ANIME channel on youtube evidently, just for their own anime promos!
Found a cool documentary about pioneering Death Metal band DEATH from my home state of Florida. This band was at the foundation of everything that followed. Here is a trailer.
Although all anime is made in Japan, USA is actually leading Japan in owning/distributing anime to the world which is quite interesting. Manga never got as popular in USA as much as Japan (its really crazy in Japan, but must keep in mind manga dates back to 12th century) but anime fans around the world are growing rapidly.
I had a quick look at the netflix youtube channel. I recommend;
-Castlevania; Biggest hit in netflix to my knowledge -Dorohedoro; An anime with insane imagination, very punk and cool show -Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan; Seems like a side-project from Jojo, which is a series going on for a long time. Jojo's story telling is genious but one really has to dig deep o understand whats really going on. -Baki; Pure fighting philosophy theme with ofcourse a lot of fighting, but not as much one would expect.

NETFLIX is spending billions on new content. They account for about half of all internet traffic which is astounding. They have taken over for the major studios as well now that movies are not happening in theatres as much due to covid. the pandemic has been great for netflix and for new content! Thanks for the show suggestions!
I found a great documentary about STUDIO/SESSION MUSICIANS. The reality and life of being a "Hired Gun"

Last night I started watching a couple of episodes of Whose Line is it Anyway, the US version from around 1998. There are newer seasons of course too, but I like the old ones with Drew Carey as the host, though Aisha Tyler is good too.
I have watched all of the episodes before, but they still make me laugh

Behind the scenes working on miniatures on BLADE RUNNER. It's one of the most iconic sci fi films of all time and it's got a very dense history. I love finding out more about how this masterpiece of cinema was created. This was way before CGI.

The funniest thing i've seen in forever. Great comedic series mixing comedy/music. Makes fun of the tropes of occult connections to heavy metal. I may be the only person at GMC whose ever seen this show and that's too bad as it's flat out funny. This is a scene inspired by the classic guitar duel featuring steve vai and ralph machio.
