Every time there is a storm, it seems my home state of Florida gets the backwash of it. Rain in sheets, power going in and out and we are not even in the path of IDA. Anyone else feeling the storms?

my brother lives in the pan handle , said he got dumped on too.. I use to build houses on Hilton Head and other islands. The owners would just get great insurance that way every ten years the weather would take out their home and they get to build a new one, they knew it would happen and anticipated it

It's my first year here and folks here just say "you'll get used to it" and that's about it. I really didn't expect all this but I'm new to Florida. It's just part of the culture here to expect to get semi flooded every single time a big storm comes ashore. They just shrug it off. I guess I just have to get used to it. It's the power fluctuations that I hate. Storm comes, power goes off, heat is 100 degrees etc. Welcome to Florida wink.gif
